So England are still in, still a poor showing by them. We need more than a miracle to win the cup.

Business as usual old chap :salute:
Still, it was an improvement over the last two games, and like I've said from the start, it takes us a while to get into our swing usually, usually just in time to get steamrollered by one of the big guys (Argentina, Germany, Brazil, etc).

Congrats England. Not too bad for a team whose goalie scored 50% of your goals...:har:

:yeah:

Now the Greek team has more time to riot now. Then there's team Chernobyl, aka france:haha:

Bonne soirée. :salute:

And that could lead me to ask you why you should better shudda****up once you feel like saying you're not content with something http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/2267/48000280.gif, whereas it is better to let everyone know what you think when all you have is a positive feedback.

But well... That's a different matter. :88)

Bonne soirée également ! ;)

Think what you wish but IMO it's pretty clear now how important and instrumental Zidane was to the French team. The French need a new Zidane/Cantona/Platini.

Half time and its 0-0 for Ghana and Germany, if it stays a draw we face Ghana next, so - Cmon Ghana!!!:woot:

Tchocky 06-23-10 03:04 PM

C'mon australia!

Schroeder 06-23-10 03:28 PM

Lucky victory for Germany. This could have easily ended the other way around.
Germany 1:0 Ghana

Alex 06-23-10 03:32 PM

Indeed.

I'll take the England win this afternoon but despite the fact it was a much better showing than the previous two comedy episodes I'm still unconvinced as to our chances of proceeding further at the weekend.

Hopefully England v Germany will live up to the excitement of previous encounters.

Well done USA....yer lucky buggas :DL

This World Cup is working out like WW2 - France have forfeited, the USA turned up late, and England are left to fight the Germans! :O:

God bless the Aussies.

Very good defending by Ghana, which helped to make Germany showing the weakest performance of it's three matches so far. Not a disaster, but a weak performance indeed.

England vs Germany then - can't get any more classic than this (well, maybe it can - if England fights like crazy and then looses in penalty shootings :har: )

What are the chzances? England started poor, but their shape seems to show a trend towards slowly improving. Germany started like a blitz, then again did well - though not that well - against Serbia, but performed poor against Ghana, so their trend is somewhat opposite to that of England: slowly dropping. Question is what will happen in both teams until Sunday.

I tend to think chances are 53:47 for England currently. The great unknown in the formula is this typical German football virtue of tournament mentality - will it again compensate for German deficits and strengthen German fighting spirit and team spirit - or this time not? On paper, England has more of "better" players of greater international reputation.

P.S. Great relief about the referee!

Not really - half of the Krauts (11 of 23 players) have foreign roots! :03:

The unknown factor in the forthcoming game is everyone knows England have scope for vast improvement....the question is....will Shrek and fat Frank plus a few others produce that potential in the game.
