Roll Call

Hi! my name is Philip and I am 56 y/o located in York, Pa. I 've had a love affair with ships since I was in grade school, have an obsession with the story of the Bismarck and the battles of the north Atlantic. I am currently building a 1:200 scale model of Bismarck that is 99 % finished. I totally love the naval sims especially the Silent Hunter series. I still pl ay III under Grey wolves expansion. Learning to enjoy V a little bit more every day. I am a Jethro Tull fan, Oakland Raiders fan and I roast coffee for a high profile coffee company. I'm glad to be here !

Happy hunting, Philipshari! :salute:

Are you a fellow Bay Area SH5 fan? I guess one can be a Raiders fan without living near Oakland. :D

Time to introduce myself after a couple of years on SubSim:

Description
I live in Warsaw, Poland. I have no truly useful skills, thus in whatever publishing house or IT company I work I pretend to be a professional editor and copywriter - although I prefer to consider myself a proofreader, or just Dilbert.

Less useful skills include knives and razors sharpening (+7), game designing (+3), listening (maxed), finding excuses for not having sex (1 less than maxed), doing homework with my daughter (-9, explains the previous skill), winning WW2 on land and seas, and occasionally other armed conflicts too (+6.66, not +10 because I don't fly), reading (maxed), pretending to know foreign languages (+5), calling and performing artillery strikes (+8), speech (+2), smoking (+9).

Main interests/hobbys include: insomnia, boldness, belly growing, not moving too much.

Main identity traits include: a human, a secular-materialist, a European, a Slav, a Thornian, a Pole, a graduate of my University.

Documentation
This guy holds a statuette of me in an African warrior outfit. Screenshot taken about a year ago in my birth-city of Toruń (Thorn), the true capital of Kuiavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship.

And this guy is the famous Vladimir Ilyich himself (archival screenshot courtesy of Kremlin Museum, author was executed):

Known issues/conflicts
Supposedly snoring.

Credits
No credits incurred.

The closest Polish sentence resembilng "Zelo Dobro" is "Zioło dobre!", which translates to: "Good weed!". :|\\

tonschk 09-16-10 11:57 AM

Yes ,I think " Zelo Dobro " is from Slovenia language, similar to Polish

You left your excellent sense of humor off that list. :salute:

How dare you ask a woman's age?! "She's allready a grownup!", 13 years old. :O:

pickinthebanjo 09-17-10 10:37 PM

just bought my copy, should be done downloading from steam in about an hour and a half. Now if only I get a couple days off, they seem to like to give me seven day work weeks

Sailor Steve 09-17-10 10:42 PM

:yep: And I'm sure she reminds you of it all the time.

I've always been fond of the quote attributed to Mark Twain:
Quote:

When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished at how much he had learned in seven years.
