For all it's worth, that water is not much more radioactive than the water we've been drinking from the start of the voyage...and, no, those aren't too radioactive either

"The radioactivity doesn't bother me too much, since the reactor uses lead coolant and the core has not been exposed then the chances of radioactivity escaping is reduced as the coolant would have solidified upon SCRAMing. However, before I go swimming in the stuff, I'd like to know if there's nothing nasty like Hydrochloric acid at a high concentration down there."

Raptor1 05-26-09 11:45 AM

We don't know that the core hasn't been breached.

Oberon 05-26-09 11:48 AM

"Surely you would be able to see the glow from it or feel the radiation from it? I mean, it's not a big room and the reactor is not shielded behind a wall, as soon as someone went in there they would probably start to feel sick if the core was breached, plus the water would be radioactive from exposure to the core."

Raptor1 05-26-09 11:54 AM

As I said, the water isn't radioactive, so the core probably isn't breached, but we don't know anything for cert...

...what if there is something in the water that prevents the radiation from getting through...more than normal water, that is...?

Jimbuna 05-26-09 11:56 AM

*Jimbuna approaches Oberon*

"Are you going to put a stint in at the sonar section?"

I have suspected him since he begged me to save him from you a few days ago, but that doesn't mean you can go around and accuse people of being monsters without any evidence...

*glances back at the hideous corpse*

...Speaking of which, now that he is dead, can you show us your evidence?

We do not accuse people without evidence, but that evidence is not made generally available with good reason. We are not in the habit of giving our enemies puzzle pieces to put together.

"Which is why I want that sample analysed, it's the only way to know."

*Oberon turns to Jim.*

"I would, but the sonar suite makes as much sense to me as Sudoku, mate."

Nokia 05-26-09 12:49 PM

"Well now that was something! Thank god it's now gone. And it seems that he "investigation" was quite right of what they said. Thank god I didn't vote for undersea..."

*Sits down at a table to ponder over what just happened.*

TarJak 05-27-09 06:14 PM

"OK we'll get to the seawater analysis, but first I want finish getting the blood samples from each of you. Who hasn't given a sample?"

SandyCaesar 05-27-09 06:30 PM

"Here, doc."

Day 6
Lights On

Last night there where problems getting the power running.
The whole place was down for 24hours and a day/night cycle was missed.

Without warning, the lights come on again.

CaptainHaplo did not attend roll-call after the light's came on. After a ship
wide search parts of his blood stained clothes where found in one of the
crew cabins. There is no possibility that he has survived.

Another lynch vote is clearly needed!

TarJak 05-27-09 06:48 PM

"Ah at last. At least I can see what I'm doing with these needles now!"

*Extracts a sample from Sandy. labels the vial and puts it with the others.*

"What? Haplo missing? How did that happen?"

:o

"Tarjak, I will try not to think too hard about the ramifications of that remark..."

TarJak 05-27-09 10:14 PM

"Oh don't worry, I made sure that I got yours out of the kit bag and not out of the sharps container.":D
