I have X-fi extreme on one rig and X-Fi elite pro on another and never had any engine cut outs. I have had some sounds loop when time compression is increased on the odd occation. |
I'd like to give this mod a try:yep: Do you need to be in port to enable, or is it safe mid patrol since it's a sound mod?:hmm:

But I recommend that you load the sound pack with the game closed... we never know. About being in middle patrol, no worries there! |

Thanks PT! I'll give her a go:up: |
Just installed it, and all i can say is- im mighty impressed.
The guys haveing the ciggie on watch duty just cracking me up. Only thing- i struggled with enabling the thing, without screwing up my graphics, but installing it before OLC GUI solved the issue. Great sound mod. |

[quote]"Why won't you try pressing CTRL+S at the start of the patrol... you'll be very impressed!"[end quote]
So true, need fresh socks all the time 'cause I turn the sound way up:yep: |
As Sound as it gets
Mr. PT masterSoundBlaster how bout them Phillies aye! StepMum 82yrs. young graduate from SH2 to SH3 yesterday soo...I set her up with plain vanillia SH3, SHCmdr, ShGen and your out bloody standing 3.3 sound mod on her 6 month old high power cheap speakers Dell PC. She went to the Naval Academy Nav trainning hit Ctrl+S and bam..."Targeting ShIp"...BoRah:damn: check and Recheck my work and I said to her it must be scripted or hardcoding. She gave me that that User Look you know what I mean like fix it yesterday look ace the exam 1st try now I know alittle something about boats. Im 57 or will be very soon and in 1972 back from Nam went to work at EB in rotten Groton as a 3rd class outside Nuclear Machinist started on the Nautlis What (591) it had backup EMD's or Alco's forget which but...before they let you coreload that old SW5 plant, 600's or 700 boomer plants you had to be able tear down, put together and fire up them diesels. Anyway made Mom a quick and dirty patrol...she hit Ctrl+S....man had to turn away from her machine eyes got all watery. She got up grab the SH3 manual and quickref card got her purse, pullout her Visa and said, " Find me some speakers have the order in by tomorrow". True story the sounds are sweet thank you. Will be putting your Mod in my NYGM 3.1 after returning from my 1st patrol thanx so very much would say hats off to ya don't wear them but...I will sling my dregs. Stay deep!
Respectfully, DS ...I will sling my dreads to you.:sunny: |
ahm...
I readed it 3 times and I didn't get it very well... see, I'm from Brazil and my english is not perfect. I think you are making a compliment or so, but I didn't understood the story, and I want to, it sounds interesting. Mind telling it again, slower, and explaining like if I was 6 years old? Thanks anyway! Very kind of you! |
Don't feel bad PT. I couldn't undestand it for sure either.
DarkStar173rd: Are you saying that your 82 year old step mom liked the new sound pack so much she made you go out and buy a nice speaker set? |
Yes Gizmo and yes PT the sounds are very good and I have hear very similar sounds in Real Life while working at Electric Boat (EB) General Dynamics back in 1972 and PT don't be sorry about your english, been to your country lots of times delivery supply boats to petrol chemical Brazil and I can't even spell portgusez. Thank you. Stay Deep
Respectfully, DS |
Well, thank you very much, DarkStart!
Makes me feel great knowing that you enjoyed the sound pack! Thanks for the compliment, my friend! Really means a lot! |
People should not type when they're loaded on stimulants. :p
Seriously, though. I'm native-born and grew up here in the USA and even I had to read that slowly...twice...to be clear on what was being said. It helps if you break your sentences up into more readable chunks like you see me doing here with this post. It makes for an easier read and people will pay more attention to what you have to say, DarkStar173rd. Just a matter of the etiquette established here and for the sake of clarity. :know: Glad to hear you and your mom have been enjoying SH3 and Philipp's sound pack. He does very good work and I highly recommend his other mods. Get your mom to sign-up here at Subsim and join the discussion! @PT : It seems your fans cover all ages, Phillip! ;) |
