I noticed the same thing. I was thinking that by the time my S-Boat got from Alaska to the Philippines the war would be over! :O:

how do you create your Q-Ref cards? i am envious because i prefer to make some customizations and would dearly love to be able to just make a couple of changes to the color Q-ref card than to use white-out on a printed sheet.:)

Need more specifics. Time, Date, exact whereabouts. The Pacific is a big ocean. :D

Did your CTD happen as you were leaving Manila Bay?

Lt commander lare 02-08-17 02:14 PM

Hi I was wondering is there anyway you guys can make a hotkey for FOTRS to control the red lighting ourselves I know the game does it automatically but wasn't sure how or if that is something we could change would be cool to go to battle stations and switch to red lighting more Hollywood effects lol.

Lt commander lare 02-08-17 02:16 PM

By the way I have done a second war patrol no CTD near Osaka by Grid 6.

I'm guessing that is hard coded in the game and can't be touched. Maybe CapnScurvy would have a better idea about this than I would. :03:

replaced .52 with .53 using JSGME between patrols
patrol started at midway
plotted a course for saipan october 1942; objective was pennant-icon
TC up to 1024...in 2d NavMap screen...probably just out of radar range of base...CTD
debug file was not much help: sh4.exe

BTW, the Battle Stations and Cycle tube keys work now. So we have that on the good side. :03:

The way you describe this, it almost sounds like you loaded the in-progress career that you had in v0.52? If so, there are some slight changes in the layers, and some "assets" have been moved, which could cause a CTD. This is the bother of beta testing, in that you should clear your "Save" folder in My Documents and then start a new career whenever you change versions of the mod. You won't always have that happen, but the odds go up. Let us know either way though, since if you did start a new career, we'd want to try to find what you could encounter leaving Midway in October 1942... Did you plot a direct course there, or do an in-direct route?

The "fixed" Alaskan Campaign will be in v0.54. However, if you guys want to volunteer for a pre-view test, PM me, and I'll give you a link for what's to come.

If any "flotilla", or "home base" assignment has an issue, the game will either CTD, or drop-through and assign you the game's "default" mission for just north of Luzon, south of Formosa. If you take a boat from Dutch Harbor to that assignment, you ~HAVE~ to stop at Midway going West to get your tanks topped-off. You then have to set your speed to no more than Standard, and do some experimenting immediately upon leaving Midway, so find the most fuel-efficient setting (mine was just below Standard), because you will need every drop of diesel you can spare. Hopefully, you don't encounter any bad weather that affect your headway, else you may as well turn around, else you'll run out of fuel. You must head directly to the area and stay on the surface the whole trip, unless something forces you down. Even then, use as little battery as you can, and do NOT let the batteries re-charge, lest you run out of fuel coming back. Get on station, get a Mission Complete, and immediately head for Midway with the same restrictions as before. Spend as little time beneath the surface using battery, as you can. I got me two merchants and an Aux Cruiser the one time I did that previously, but talk about a boring trip to and from... wow. I did run out of fuel, just as I got back to Midway. Barely made it. I was hoping that the campaign would then assign me something along the Aleutian chain. It did not. I got the same Luzon mission as before... So the Alaskan Campaign in v0.53 is the same since back when... We initially intended to completely disable it.

One of the things I like about RR's Silent Hunter 4 Corruption Management System (SH4CMS) is how easy it is to use.
I have the Pristeen copy and the Game copy.
Each time I dock after a long patrol I have the option to copy and paste the game copy into my main game folder before I start the next mission.
I have noticed just moving and testing a couple of mods that JSGME is not reliable when checking the snapshot and shows errors.
I can start my new FOTRSU mission knowing it is always corruption free.

Good evening THEBERBSTER,

Yesterday evening during a heavy intake of the good stuff, i fubared 4 x sh4 installations...

With cross contamination / cut & pasting between installs, I was testing new features / projects but so far "WIP & CTD central so far"

So i had to start from scratch and (SH4CMS) is so easy to use, the menu system is so easy to understand and within a few hours I had all four installs back to their original status minus the drunk edits previous night.

I love watching programs work, and seeing the cmd prompt doing it's thing added even more excitement to a brilliant set of scripts..l...

I think need to sit down in a padded cell..
