I have a similar problem - I calculate speed with obs scope, but stopwatch is only available at attack scope. I didn't solve this one, yet. |
Im sure this is a dumb question...but wondering why you want/need 2 watch's?
|
IIRC, Mikhayl, that problem was always there when jonz first created the SW incased in wood. You could always drag it around from screen to screen but it could only be started or stopped from the F3 screen. I believe it's hard coded.

Ahhh...I see!:hmm:
Well...there's always this option at 1.99 + shipping.. http://cgi.ebay.com/TIMEX-INDIGLO-RU...QQcmdZViewItem :rotfl: J/K Mate! I can see how it would be nice to have one on screen wherever you are...hope it can be sorted! |
Mikhayl
Sorry Mate...but that would not work well... That's a timepiece on the French Ebay, and would never work on a German U-boat:D |

I'm not too fussed about the stopwatch, as I just use the stopwatch function on my own wrist watch. It works in the same way, and since it's not digital it doesn't ruin the immersion for me. But I agree it would be handy to have it in the obs scope, though it looks like a tough one to crack. |
@Mikayl
did you remember to increase the DialsNo= line by +4 at eth beginning of the dials.cfg file? |
I just DL it and i just love the lighter clicking sound in the tutorial:lol::up:

This is really great mod.
But for me the bigger compass on right side is too small. Can anyone help me to make this compass bigger. Something like that: http://img156.imageshack.us/img156/3121/zmianami2.png Maybe all instruments will looks better with bigger size. |

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=127449 I find the other 5 dials in OLC's mod to be plenty big enough for me, but the extra-large compass is very useful. |
i missed the big compass too, so i changed the menu_1024_768.ini and the dials.cfg
here they are, you only need to copy them in your olc folder in the mods folder. replace the original ones, ready! http://zwenni.zw.funpic.de/sh3/Dials.cfg http://zwenni.zw.funpic.de/sh3/menu_1024_768.ini greetz, Jaeger |
This looks great! Can't wait to install this and finally be able to turn map updates off without getting frustrated. I have tried before with map updates off but the tools just weren't in this game for it to function properly, (missing marks in a heavily bouncing scope) even though i knew how to calculate AOB from my observations they were never accurate enough. And it seems way cooler to do it with that "wizard wheel" than a pocket calculator:D
I just have one question before I go ahead and try this out. What kind of alterations to the commands_de.cfg was made in this mod? I don't need a complete list of alterations, just the general idea if it's major changes or not. I have a swedish keyboard which is somewhat close to a german one but not quite the same. So I would prefer keeping my old modified file. I don't know a thing about those "0x77" things but at least I managed to copy and paste them around to switch one key out for another (so that I would have left and right hand rudder on the same row, and heading to view/view to heading next to each other too instead of them all placed rather arbitrary on the right hand side or my keyboard). |

Do you know how to use a text file comparison tool? Compare It! is one of several free ones (google it). You can use one to quickly and easily move all your keyboard mappings from your current commands cfg file into the OLC GUI cfg file. However, you cannot just use your own cfg file instead of the OLC GUI file. HTH OLC |
Ive instaled the sliding compass and it works good.
BTW: OLC the mod is dogs danglies. |
Thanks for the reply and I will get one of those tools to compare them myself. However, eager as I was to try this mod, I went ahead and installed it without your commands_de.cfg and so far it's working fine. I also managed to get the big compass from GWX and the wooden stopwatch to work together with it all. Thanks to a little mod from Mikhayl and instructions from Joegrundman.
So far the only functionality that differed from your video is that the knob that opens and closes the TDC will not have any effect at all on the status of the TDC (manual or auto). But this is almost too good to be true as this is exacly as I would like to have it:rock: This is because I prefer to start with finding the targets course and then set me up perpendicular to that and just point the scope at 000 and AOB at 90 and then into auto mode. But I do this with CTRL-T which will let me have it in auto and still watch it. Gives me something to do while waiting for the target and i can check and recheck the AOB from the TDC with what I calculate from the whiz-wheel and make sure that everything is fine, no change in target course and that my initial observations were correct. Edit: Lots of MnID lines were changed. I guess I didn't notice because I mostly use the keyboard in this game, but there were probably some mouse commands that didn't work. Everything worked out fine after comparing the two files and implemented everything except the TDC manual/auto that I didn't want implemented:D Thanks for a GREAT mod! |
OMG where did this mod come from!:o:rock:
I have GWX2 install so can i just JSGME this mod straight over it and it will work nicely? Thanks:up: Edit: okay i just watched the Video and might have to watch it a few times to get the hang of manual targetting but have also just downloaded the pdf as well. Mod just downloaded but hasn't been enabled yet, but what ive seen in the video is brilliant - im a noob when it comes to manual targetting this mod will fix that i hope. I like the dials setup and what your done to the observation scope.:up::up: |
I gotta question. I run the game with OLC in 1600x1200 using that .dll that allows you to change SH3 resolution. It runs fine but there's a problem when you click to reveal the mouse arrow when using the periscope. The default location of the reappearing mouse arrow is down and left over the torpedo depth setting gauge which invariable causes me to reset my torpedo depth each time I click to reveal the mouse arrow.
Is there a setting I can tweak to cause the mouse arrow to reappear dead center in the periscope? |

Just one slight problem before i try this mod, i disabled everything in JSGME then re-enable a few GWX2 addons, OLC, but when i try the Uboat 1.2 mod I get conflicts with OLC. Can the uboat mod work alongside yours? Doesn't matter if it can't i just wont enable Uboat but thought i did ask first.
