There are times comming out of time compression where the ocean starts to go forward or backward faster than the sub is moving and the waves start to shake violently!

What a great, fantastic Mod, I downloaded it last night and played and enjoyed the game I think for the first time since buying it. I havent played the game in close to 4 months but was pretty taken aback by this mod.

Thanks again for this outstanding work!!

One question though, how do you walk around the desk, with the arrow keys? Seems a bit slow, and how do you manuver around your victums, again with the arrow keys or is there a faster way??

I like the way I look and move on the conning deck without the mod...so I skipped the cam installs...is this bad and will it have adverse effects on the mod as a whole?

ship reflections by night
 
hi LeoVampire,

just a feedback on ship reflections in water by night:

when i was very near to a merchant , i feel that the reflection was brighter than the boat itself. This is not noticiable when we are far.

there is a newer camera available here.

it's called "arcade" but i have gotten rid of the "realistic" one altogether as i saw people complaining about the inability to look around with the uzo. there are also a few other fixes, like the flickering inside and a few other tweaks new in this one. so bottom line:
newest version is the one linked above; binocs are obscured by the sub, uzo not. the version which still had the obscured uzo hasn't been updated and won't be in the future unless there is overwhelming demand for it.

Good morning Leo.

Yeah I have seen this also but only rarely, kinda like the tide is rushing out or in, in a different direction than the boats travel. Only seen it maybe three times.

I find it strange how Ubisoft had the ocean working just fine in SH3 (it never shows any of these problems, always smooth fluid wave action) and then in SH4 something they changed has introduced this.

Maybe we should ask the developers if they are gonna fix this in 1.4.

Hi. I've installed over TM1.6.2 and I'm getting serious stuttering and slowdown.. not limited to, but partic. worse when deck gun is firing or I'm being fired at...

I'm running at 1900x1200, however if I drop to 1280x800 it's MARGINALLY better.

My rig is pretty top of the line (okay processor is a bit crappy) but surely I should be able to run everything at full whack???

Is there something I can check?

I don't want to fresh install... I'm on my 6th patrol and have over 100k tonnage on 100% realism at the moment and the buggers haven't gotten me yet! ;)

Just got my new Nvidia 8800GTS graphcs card installed and working and thought I'd post a shot of what Im getting on ROW. Now I can really see just how good this mod is!

Standard resolution here, installed over Trigger last night, no noticable slow downs yet. Mid-range computer.

By the way LV, first complete patrol with ROW + Trigger combined, it was a great one :up:

to walk around your deck, you use the arow keys, its slow on its own but you can press shift and it goes faster, to move to your enemys ship or friendly ship in the area, go to the free camera in the HUD, and use arrow keys and press shift to go faster.

What I recommend and you will probably not like it, go into MY DOCUMENTS/SH4/DATA and delete your current patrol. Start over completely. There is richsaves and savegame folders prior to this install of the mod that could be creating the issue. Dump both richsave and savegame folders. Start a new career. Might as well, the scenery is so beautiful. It sucks doing this but it worked for me and I have a whimpy computer.

Things will straighten out for you once you go to base and then leave on a new patrol.

The new seperate download's now make the smoke stay around even when the camera isn't focused on the ship that is burning. So if there are a lot of damaged ships in the area not going down it might cause a slow down. We did this as a request from a lot of people in this thread.

There are a lot of changes to the game files that control a lot of the visual graffic's and sometimes when you install it it dosn;t all settle down till you get to base.

But I had both high end PC testers and low end PC testers to see the over all impact it had on the game and there was no noticable slow down that would cause the game to not be playable.

A quick observation about the smoke from fires.....

I wish there was a way to get the smoke to continue to rise and gradually dissipate once the fire has gone out... as it is now...the smoke suddenly disappears. Like... POOF...it's magic!
This accurs in all camera views ( Objectview, Bino Uzo...Conningdeck, etc.)

Does this seem realistic...no
Can it be modded....?
