Im having trouble with the compass. Its such fidly work. Im nearly there. http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/2...4003ke5.th.jpghttp://img229.imageshack.us/img229/1...4004wa1.th.jpg Its not the final version, it requires lot more attention. More pics on my blog.;) |
Today i riped apart everything ive done yesterday, and after couple of hours of working with wire managed to get the desired effect. Im happy with the thickness of the wire now, and i think the overall result is much better than the previous attempt.

The attack scope is finished.
The valve was redone, as i thought it was too big. The cable underside the compass was made with 2 diferent diameter wires soldered together to immitate the soft cable running into the rigid casing fixed to the body of the scope. http://img123.imageshack.us/img123/9...l001hg0.th.jpghttp://img128.imageshack.us/img128/6...l002bl7.th.jpghttp://img131.imageshack.us/img131/5...l004ku1.th.jpghttp://img106.imageshack.us/img106/7...l005na7.th.jpg Dry fit: http://img131.imageshack.us/img131/6...l006mb6.th.jpghttp://img131.imageshack.us/img131/5...l009xd7.th.jpg :know: TBC... |
That's really starting to look like something now. ... not that it didn't before ... you know what I mean.

I know exactly what You meant Bart8for3. After looking at noninspiring hull for months i can feast my ayes on some detail at last.
Today ive received the parcel containing this item: http://img58.imageshack.us/img58/770...e002zu6.th.jpghttp://img230.imageshack.us/img230/9...e003zf1.th.jpghttp://img409.imageshack.us/img409/4...e004pk3.th.jpg It will find the place on the decorative timber, to which the boat will be fixed. Im still awaiting the IC with swords and leaves, which ill fix on the opposite side of the plank. It has been brought to my attention, that im still missing one vital item on the periscope housing. The latch which keeps the hatch in the open possition. I will be replicating the part as soon as i get some reference. TBC... |
My God this thread is still alive. You guys are scaring me :rotfl:

Twisted periscope thingy take 2.
Not happy with what ive done yesterday, i had another go at it. This time i took diferent approach. Leftover from Modelbrass PE was drilled to required diameter, cut away from the sheet, and sanded around the perimeter to the point where my tools and ayesight didnt let me sand anymore. http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/7...e002vj7.th.jpghttp://img256.imageshack.us/img256/2...e003di6.th.jpghttp://img233.imageshack.us/img233/4...e005dq7.th.jpghttp://img233.imageshack.us/img233/3...e009hh2.th.jpghttp://img105.imageshack.us/img105/9...e016qb5.th.jpghttp://img205.imageshack.us/img205/8...e017ji3.th.jpg The result is much more real thing like. I just received the new part of fotos of the inside of the CT, and im having good long look at them. No rush in the shipyard, the Euro just started, and weather keeps me away from the boat.
I will continue soon. PS: Im in the massive tussle with the guy on e-bay over the vintage 1970 kit, and if i win i should have nice surprise for You guys. Stay tuned.:yep: |
After initial excitement of European championships im back in the shipyard.
Im massively disapointed with the performance of Poland. I follow England usualy, but they didnt qualify, so i was rooting for the team of my origin. Waste of time if You ask me. Observation scope. To remind You how the scope housing looked like before it was cut off. http://img370.imageshack.us/img370/8...s005gs0.th.jpg And the new housing: http://img505.imageshack.us/img505/6...e002nc1.th.jpghttp://img142.imageshack.us/img142/2...e003lp9.th.jpghttp://img142.imageshack.us/img142/7...0121to6.th.jpghttp://img508.imageshack.us/img508/4...1001yw5.th.jpghttp://img508.imageshack.us/img508/8...1002vm5.th.jpghttp://img397.imageshack.us/img397/7...1003yg8.th.jpghttp://img259.imageshack.us/img259/5...1007kr2.th.jpg TBC... |
