David Cameron has defended the government's spending on flood defences following widespread devastation across parts of northern England.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-35190896

Clearly most of the spending is going on investigation committees that drag on for a good six months then release its findings in a 1500 page report telling us what we already know. :damn:

But we've always been at war with Eastasia!

Hilary Benn could loose his position in a cabinet re-shuffle next year.

http://news.sky.com/story/1613803/la...ure-questioned

Well he really got his boss angry with that speech, we shall see.

Jimbuna 12-29-15 09:48 AM

Just wait for the night of the long knives when the loony left start the push to de-select the moderate MP's prior to the next general election.

Oberon 12-29-15 11:29 AM

Indeed, we haven't seen the last of the Labour civil war yet, not by a long shot.

Jimbuna 12-29-15 01:20 PM

I'm wondering if the bookies would offer any odds on Gideon becoming next PM.

Odds can't be too bad for it, either him or Bojo. Let's face it, Gideon wouldn't have thrown his entire 'austerity' budget in the dustbin and u-turned on tax credits if he wasn't trying to win popularity points. Bojo has the advantage of being...well...Boris, and he hasn't dropped any huge clangers as Mayor that have tarnished his reputation amongst the middle of the road voters, whereas Gideon has been Chancellor of the Cuts, so he'll have to work hard to lose that reputation.
Could go either way at the moment I think. :hmmm:

Jimbuna 12-29-15 01:38 PM

I honestly don't see Boris being taken seriously enough by the electorate, especially those outside of London to be a serious contender.

Oberon 12-29-15 01:52 PM

We thought the same about Corbyn once, remember? :O: :03:

Jimbuna 12-29-15 01:58 PM

True that :yep:

STEED 12-29-15 04:18 PM

First budget is always a sort of thanks for voting us in. :O:

BJ GO TM candidates in the waiting room but there could be more on the way later.

STEED 12-29-15 04:55 PM

This could be interesting..:hmmm:

David Cameron's policy chief has apologised "unreservedly" over remarks he made about black communities days after the 1985 Broadwater Farm riot in north London.
In a newly-released memo, Oliver Letwin - then adviser to Margaret Thatcher - blamed unrest on "bad moral attitudes".

Bet old Jeremy Corbyn is pleased to get a day off.

I can not say I am that surprised and yet these gongs for years have been handed out left right centre to who ever, just a yearly joke.

In a new year message, the PM says he is determined to "secure our future" with the EU referendum, which could be held in 2016.
I will say this here and now if we get the vote and Toff Boy looses he will do Irish number on us to get what he wants.

Jeremy Corbyn says 2016 will mark the "start of the journey" towards a Labour government.
Sorry Jeremy you are too old with a doggy background and if you let the extreme loonies rule the roost that will increase the Tory vote, think about it.
