as soon as i saw the opening shot from Youtube i knew who she was.
been on the Silversides many times. She is my Father's sister boat. She used to be moored in my hometown until the crooks who run the town decided that there was not enough money to be siphoned from the operation and kicked the boat out of port. She found a home in Muskegon, Michigan where she has been ever since.
when i am headed up that ways, i join their members' club and then cajol the lead guy to open up the conning tower for my guests and me. it is normally closed because it is a very vertical ladder and not everyone has the strength and coordination to go up AND down, safely, despite what they think. And there are no soft spots or safe areas on a submarine (lol) which makes falling a contact sport.
