Because the fairness of the arguement wasn't about the fairness of the tax and the U turn was about the impossibility of effective collection rather than the imposition of the tax in the first place.

Yet another budget u-turn:

Tax relief limit on charity to be axed in fresh U-turn

Chancellor George Osborne has dropped plans to limit tax relief on charitable giving, after protests from charities.


He announced in the Budget a limit of £50,000 or 25% of income, whichever was higher, on the amount a person could donate instead of paying it in tax.

Yet another U-turn by Gideon any more and the U will be worn out.
Lets have a general election soon and lets get these posh boys out who have not got a clue.
