What is AMC ships, how do I find them?

When I try to find enemies I just patrol around wasting lots of fuel, this isn't the "right" way to achieve this, right?

I am stuck with the first campaign mission, where one is to sink 50,000 tonns of British merchant traffic by Eastern British coast. I successfully completed the task to "patrol assigned area" (displays as green, so I assume it's completed), then I was lucky to find an unguarded convoy of 10 merchants going North just East of the thick red line on my map. During one night attack I sank 8 of them (realism seems to be an issue in SH5 for me...) for 56k tonns, used all my ammo and headed back to Kiel. Docked. Now it doesn't seem the game recognized completing the mission of sinking 50k tonnage. On the task map I can't request to do this mission again (I can only request the 100k tonns one), but when I ask the commander to send me to a patrol, he asks if I want to go to a "random patrol" without assigned tasks.

What do I do to accomplish the 50k tonnage mission?

Thanks for quick answer, but this doesn't solve my problem - I know how to request a mission, in fact I requested one successfully. My problem is: I can't accomplish the "sink 50k tonns" mission despite sinking more than 50k tonnage. :)

Does the white line fill the tonnage bar .

Honestly I don't think I saw any line. Could that be because I play on 100% difficulty? Or maybe I just missed it? Where should I find it?

Does this mean my 50k mission is finished? If so, I have a few questions:
1. Why is the iron cross below "British Waters" mission in the top-left corner empty? (in my Polish version it says "Brytyjskie wody").

2. What does it mean "Mission failed - user exit" on the below screen:

3. Why does it show that I sunk 20 merchant ships when I sank only 8 (1 paptrol) + 4 on the training patrol?


These questions may be trivial for you, those with big SH5 experience, but I'm still not familiar with the interface and its strange features.

Please help, I'm truly stuck... :) (see the above post). Explored all places in the game, Museum, Uplay and so on, even got killed in a single mission while waiting for a tip. Will be glad for any answers from you guys who already know this game by heart. :salute:

Hi, I think,in my great ignorance:), that most of people like me had same problem as you,until...we begun to play game on internet...
It seems to me game goes on ONLY updating your progress with UBI server,and this means...that you could not play cracked game.
IMO I solved buying stock SH5,no prob anymore! I really hope you have same...problem because if you already did it,I don't know how to help you.

Fortunately that's not the case, as I have a legal CD bought in a shop (this is why I got crappy Polish version and now, with mods, all the text in game is mixed Polish/English/German pidgin).

However now, that you mentioned Ubi servers - I read in some other thread that synchronizing saves _could_ break my saves, and I tried to switch synchronizing off. It doesn't seem to be switched off, as the game tells me every time I start it that it synchronized my saves, but I'll make sure synchronizing is on. I doubt this will solve my problem though. :hmmm:

However,here, when I start game,if I go in settings in launcher,it asks me if I I want to activate online saving,but I close pop up without modifyng anything because it works and I don't want to know at all if they are already activated or not,to avoid troubles like yours for example,so try to do it and tell me!

Hmm. I'm already in another mission and trying hard. Already failed once to sink 100k tonns, as convoy escorts crippled me in a failed night attack and I had to go to base. Then I had to request the mission again. Does it mean that I have to sink all 100 thousand tonns in ONE patrol? And if so - does coming back to base only to resupply and then going back to see without docking count as one patrol? How did you gentlemen accomplish this?

What do the small iron crosses in the left corner of my map mean? Why didn't I get one for accomplishing the 50k mission? Did I miss something?

Getting answers to these 2 questions is a good start to understand SH5 interface. :rotfl2:

when heading to base after patrol make sure you End Patrol everytime . Those iron crosses fill up when you have finished the objectives . Why hasnt the iron cross filled for the 50K mission ? end patrol and see what happens or sink more merchants in that area . You have to End Patrol and go and request the same mission or another one after every patrol . The deadline in red is when you have to complete the mission . The iron crosses fill up when you complete the missions . I have Lite Campaign mod and i need 6 of 8 iron crosses by the deadline .

So, to be sure I understand you:
Even if I end patrol every time upon coming to base without sinking all 100k tonnage, eventually after a few patrols the mission will be accomplished by summing my sinkings from a few consecutive patrols. Is that correct?

I;lltry to go to East Coast again to sink some more ships and see what happens with my iron cross. :damn:
