Hi, I'm trying to play this wonderful mod at full realism (I only have the event camera), even without the "god view" contact updates on the map (btw it's odd this option doesn't move the percentage at all).

The problem is that for now it's far too difficult (and with the silhouette of the ships showing is far too easy), and I'd like to have the "contact updates" option NOT showing the ships BUT showing the dashed lines from the hydrophone operator.
(or maybe having the lines back with "no contact updates" uncecked")

Is there a way to do so?
Are that indicators subject to errors, depending on the operator's experience? (like the estimated distance by the watchman official, maybe)

Thx in advance:)

Hi

As per my earlier post is there a way to disable incoming radio messages.
I've had to remove my radio operator from duty just to stop these coming in every 30 seconds when using time compression. The messages are'nt from BDU'but from other subs directed towards me even when i'm thousands of km's away.I've even had messages from ME to ME!! :-?

Also is there a way to lighten the water colour?

Thanx

Thanks.

Same questions, for all speeds and ranges in GWX 3.0.
I cannot find this information on the manual nor in the gwx threads, and without it and "no contact updates" checked it's pretty impossible to plan a decent hunt.:-?

[quote=Sailor Steve]Well, first off, the war hasn't started yet. so when you sank other ships they were neutral. This means that you've sunk semi-friendly ships, so your own guys think you've gone renegade. I think.

The date not progressing? That's one I've never seen.[/quote
Not progressing - that`s right.

Yeah, I thought abuot it, the Brit ships before the war.:)
Thank you, I`ll try again.
Probably the date in the game time got lost, just like me, when I saw English ships in these waters;) So, anyway, thank you for your answer, GWX looks great, just almost like SH4 - :)
But the Germans before the war... they do many bad things, even BEFORE the war, so you know;)

Fuhrer, new message received: we got SITUATION in Konigsberg:arrgh!:

Hello Guys...

Okay, I have installed the GWX3, and I have tried to play the first patrol A098 from Konigsberg. I had sunk a few merchs - some Limeys, and happy and proud in Gloria for Adolf I came back home, and what? Friendly ships sunk my sub!:o I have loaded the saved game, and... again down to the bottom:oops:.
Okay. I thought, I would try to do that in this way... Exit from the first mission, dock in Konigsberg, and then Start next mission a few days later (in the game time) But... Again Aug 1 1939, the whole game starts from the same moment and time: the 1st Aug 1939.
BTW, after the finished patrol, of course, the date should be, after a few days of rest, I don`t know, maybe the 6th, or 8th Aug, am I right?
What happened, what did I do wrong?

Regards,
deck-hand from Poland

Stay out on patrol and you will receive a radio message on the 4th informing you to return to base.

Remember, all ships are neutral at this point in time.....once you attack one, every ship in the SH3 world (also being neutral) will perceive you as an enemy.

Upon receipt of the radio message, port instantly back to base (Esc) and apply for a transfer to the 1st or 2nd Flotilla.

Your second patrol should commence on 24th August allowing you plenty of time to cruise to your patrol grid prior to the commencement of hostilities....as was the case in RL.

Okay, I got it:) Thank you for all.
I have realized that too late. But, note one thing, on the map there are three marks: ship target... so you know, target:hmm: is a target, so I sank`em all Limeys:rock:
Great thanks one more time:)

[edit: 10 Jan] Yeah, it`s working. Now is Aug 22 1939 transferred to Wilhelmshaven:sunny:
By the way. :up:The theme musik in the main menu, is great, atmospheric, just wonderfull. Fantastic, in my opinion it sounds much better than the original musik, or the soundtrack from Das Boot!
...where does this musik come from? Could someone help me with this?:)
Thank you very much:)

Try the Assisted Plotting Mod. It removes all ships from the map, unless you identify one and then it shows up. It gives the 'dashed' sonar lines as well.

I'll try to remember to put it up tomorrow so you can get it.

Hi Kpt.,

that file seems to be corrupted. I downloaded three times and got always the same wrong hash: ee96ed51e0082bd920e27e416c0aff30

Correct hash was: d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e

It's impossible to install because error messages of corrupted source files appear.

H.n.y.,
SquareSteelBar ;)

Hi SSB,

I'm not sure what to say to you at this point.

Concerned by your post, I created a clean installation of SH3 patched to version 1.4b and installed the Full .EXE version that I downloaded from BtS... without any of the problems you've encountered. No corrupted file messages appeared at any point in the process.

The only thing I can think of at the moment is that if your internet service is interrupted and then resumed during the download... may cause portions of the file content to become corrupted.

All indications at my end suggest that there is nothing wrong with the Full .EXE version available from BtS.

Sorry, RDP ...
You are right ... tastes differ ...
But to environment defects it's possible to add "Super Modern Conception" - The Flat Earth on Backs of Three Whales ... :rotfl:
But it's a joke ...
If to speak seriously, main inconvenience of this mod it's decrease FPS more than on 30 % in simple scenes (for example: 66 fps ---> 43 fps.) ...

Hmm...very weird.
Nevertheless THX for reply. Will try it again...

So long,

No worries AV.

Yeah, at the end of the day the game can only be stretched so far, but I have
said this more than a few times, that folks here amaze me with how far they
have pushed SH3 close to four years after it's release :o:o:yep:

As far as fps, I really only notice a difference ( noticeable one anyway ) under 25fps, but that's me :88):88)

Gosh, go away for a few months and all GWX heck breaks loose! :o Put in a transfer to the Luftwaffe and have been putting it to the Tommies in BoBII. This update makes me think I should re-transfer back to the kreigsmarine! Thanks for the update, GWX team!
