Those new coal-carrying barges are interesting. Surely they didn't cross the atlantic in them? That would be crazy!

Jimbuna 08-20-07 04:30 AM

They'd be used solely for coastal work and the Thames, Humber, Tyne estuaries etc.

Never seen ships filled with coal before!? How (where) did you get that?

Jimbuna 08-20-07 04:46 PM

Do those come with sauce? (i.e., do the crew guys walking on the deck, including the captain, come with the vessels?)

Ubåtskapten 08-20-07 09:50 PM

Got escorted over the bay by a pair of U-flaks.

Fortunately, the never ending swarm of mosquitos seemed to consist of a bunch of rookies.:arrgh!:

You engaged them?:stare:

That put a perfectly good U-boat at risk. You should of ordered a crash dive at Ahead Flank to evade them entirely and not waste ammo OR jeopardize your vessel.

Actually I routinely crash dived at first, but when I saw that the planes continuously missed the U-flaks I decided it was pretty safe to resurface again, just to test why the other boats weren't swiss cheesed by now. As I suspected ,they sucked at hitting me too, and strangely enough I came to take more damage from crash diving into the seafloor 20m under the keel than from the few machine gun hits they scored.
Furthermore, this is the only time I have volontarily surfaced to fight aircrafts in this later years of the war. As I've many times almost got killed by their accurate bombs and DC's when crash diving lately, yes, staying surfaced to fight the planes is almost suicide in this stage of the war. Especially now that I'm using the LRT mod which brings much deadlier aircrafts and more frequent encounters with them, forcing me to spend most of the time under water in many areas.:damn: Perhaps almost as tuff as it was IRL!? Anyhow, theese planes were oddly bad in their precision compaired to all the other über planes I've seen in 43. Why? That I don't know. At least they made a good shooting practice.;)
