I suppose the only really good thing to come from this result is that the LibDums lost yet another deposit :haha:

bertieck476 11-21-14 06:07 AM

look at the turnout.

Jimbuna 11-21-14 06:59 AM

Not surprised at the result...was actually more interested in seeing who came second.

As a side note...The Lib Dems came fifth with their lowest vote total in a by-election.

STEED 11-21-14 08:40 AM

Well....

UKIP did it but there is a good chance the Tories will retake the seat come the general election. UKIP's majority dose not make it strong enough and taking into account a number of voters voted for them will switch back to the Tories.

UKIP clearly took votes from the main three and once again how many of those votes were protest votes?

I have a nasty feeling the run up to the general election is going to very dirty. There are too many factors at play here for example labour is facing a wipe out in Scotland, the liberals are also going to loose more seats and finally how many seats will UKIP get? A lot can happen in the run up to next year.

Moving on to this other story..

Labour's Emily Thornberry quits over 'snobby' tweet

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-30139832

First of all this is a load of rubbish, resign over a silly tweet what rot. And secondly she was sacked as it stick out a mile and not for the first time a government front bencher/opposition front bencher is given the push. This just shows the main three party's up in a bad light and how out of touch they are.

bertieck476 11-21-14 11:13 AM

Steed, she's not a government front bencher.

The silly thing is that all the other home nations are very comfortable flying their flags, but most people look negatively at anyone flying the england flag unless at a sporting event. Why do we feel this way?
