In the stock game, the vessel is available for the duration of the war. In FotRSU, it's not available until Spring 1943. I'm wondering if it might not be a date versus call thing... In the Data / Roster / Japan / Sea, it's the SCSubchaser. The files are actually in Data / Sea / NSC_SubChaser. Is this the culprit?:
http://i1381.photobucket.com/albums/...psiyaaboqm.jpg I haven't seen one do that in FotRSU yet, so I'm inclined to think that something went wrong with the spawn. You are in the Campaign files that are of the 42b layer that runs from September 1st, 1942 through August 31st, 1943. I can find no Single Units with the SCSubchaser yet, and I suspect that we have found another renegade in the Jap_HarborTraffic file. More later... maybe... :wah: I have called in the cavalry, btw... :lol: :salute: Notice, if you will, that the little beast does not have a front gun turret, but rather, what appears to be a rocket launcher... Did you get close enough to notice that detail, or if it had a gun? There's a ~nasty~ little band of thunderstorms cutting across Indiana here right now, and I've lost power 3 times and gotten the boot on the i-net... maybe I'll get finished this time... oh boy... Anyway, I have seen a similar effect to what you show on the previous page, but it was from the search lights on the Bismark - er... Bismarck... when we were having issues with it. That was not exactly the same though... |
Here is the image from my Museum!
https://s27.postimg.org/z0s6i7d8z/Sc...9_06_55_PM.png close up of same ship from screen capyure http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/data...AASUVORK5CYII= https://s23.postimg.org/aia0yq6mj/Sc...1_57_27_PM.png Sorry, don't know how enlarge this one! But, when I enlarge it in my Preview window there is a deck gun. Surprised to see it in my Museum? Any ideas ? |
OK. Not good... You said you started from a "Pristine" SH4 v1.5 and then Fall of the Rising Sun Ultimate v0.52 ... no other mods? How about giving us your computer specs once again... Include the cpu, amount of RAM, graphics card, OS, and whether 32 or 64 bit version. Thanks.
If I find your specs from your earlier post, I'll pop back in here, but I keep losing power out in the sticks here (I live near a major midwestern metropolitan area)... what a farce. My electric bill has necessarily doubled, and I get less than half the service, get told all the time that I'm using more juice than my neighbor, and that I'm not hooked up to their little "optimizer" doo-dad thiggamabob... but I'm being a PUC... that's Politically UN Correct |

Above is a screenie from a new war patrol mission I've just completed testing. It is in JSGME form and the link below is ready. :D :up: FOTRSU_WP01_Molucca Sea Please feel free to comment on the mission. Feedback is always appreciated. :salute: |

Compare it to cdrsubron7's post just above this... |
Hmmm, I thought I would have a look at this ship in the museum to see if its a mod problem, it looks OK in my museum so that discounts a mod problem, system specs or file corruption looks as though it could be the next area to investigate.

Mmmmmmm. Jldjs has a bad ship in the museum, Moonlight does not. That means they have two different base game installations.
The team had that problem early on until we did some research and came up with a bulletproof anti-corruption strategy. Please see this thread to see the results of our crisis. If you do what it says, you will always have a rock solid base of guaranteed virgin stock game files to install FOTRSU into. We've found that game corruption is absolutely impossible to avoid when working with 3.6 GB of monster mod. You should regularly uninstall all mods with JSGME and compare game files with a shapshot made when you are 100% sure you have pristeen stock files. When the snapshot says there are differences, do the 10 minute procedure. Your save game files are preserved. Just reinstall your mods, start SH4, reload your save and play as if nothing had ever happened. Soon we will have an SH4 Anti-Corruption Toolkit, SHACT, to automate the process. |

BTW, your observation re size of the Etorufo ship vs ocean as explaining the white wake makes sense. But what causes this? |

But, I've had this visual of the Etorufo for a while when I played TMO 2.5! So, I don't see it as being a problem with .50 or .52. More likely it's something on my system or game contents. So, if someone can suggest what's causing it I'd be grateful, but don't let this interfere with your efforts to bring FotRS_Ultimate forward. |

So, is it one of the 17 NSC_Subchaser files that is bad? Edit Since I also have Bootcamp on my MacBook, i ran the version of SH4 installed under Bootcamp, which runs Windows 7, and when I opened the Museum, selected the Etorufo, the display was ok, no white wake and the ship's size was comparable to other ships in that class as viewed in Museum. Now it's really getting amazing, and I still don't understand what's wrong. The versions of the 17 NSC_Subchaser files compare the same as to dates and size on Bootcamp and Mac too. |
We have no takers as of yet on this, and I'm not the only one not able to replicate this... You have a gun turret on yours, Moonlight's and mine do not. So... check your file dates against this:
Code:
Data / Sea / NSC_SubChaser / You have however, given me an idea for another vessel in the game... get ready s7rikeback!... :lol: |
Propbeanie;
Mine are the same as yours IF you meant the last one on your list to be NSC_SubChaser_T01_lr.dds 03/01/12 01/26/07 instead of ; NSC_SubChaser_T01.dds 03/01/12 01/26/07 |
