scratch that last post about frozen flags....restarting the game fixed it :)

What you are seeing here is something Rongel found as he tries to fix the flags.

If you load your game from a save - all ships that are drawn during load (within 30km) will have working flags.

Any (new SH4 .dat) ship that enters this 30km zone will have a frozen flag.

Rongel continues to look for a fix:yep: - stay tuned:know:

Does anyone know the criteria that must be met in order to get a newer Type VII U-boat? I've made it to 1943 and I still have a VIIB. I have a bunch of renown and tonnage. I'm just waiting for the time when I end a patrol and command of a newer boat is offered. If the vanilla SH5 campaign ended in 1943, when were you supposed to get the VIIC and VIIC/41?

@ DoveEgg - I had a 7c somewhere towards the end of Happy Times in my current campaign.

Trevally (or anyone else) - have you had any issues around the 'Middle East Supplies' mission area in Mare Nostrum? I've had 3 CTDs in a row around the same area, always just before I get into the mission zone. Tried approaching from different courses, always the same.

Bit stumped!

Can you post your mod list again and let me know if you started a new career when you installed the version you use.

There is a mod that can force this - see here http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=181707

There is a versions to work with OHII near the bottom of the page.

Using:

OPEN HORIZONS II_base v1.2.1

This version had a fresh campaign start, and has been progressed through from the first campaign to Mare Nostrum. Full current mod list is in my sig (I've not upgraded so as not to have to restart the campaign).

Screenshot shows the map/date/location, crashes begin to occur at the mouse pointer and onward. Once I made it all the way to the waypoint before CTD, then two CTDs at the mouse-ish.

Fourth attempt, I changed course and went south for 200nm or so, then East and it was fine... sank the tonnage and returned by way of SE Crete, picking up another (audible on hydro but no sonar report, they all seem to do that) Hog Islander on the way back.

So I seem to have come through it after a bit of perseverance.. I did see Italian warship battlegroups in the area on the first two attempts so maybe something wonky with them; probably worth a check over the area anyway. :hmmm:

On a side note, using Equip Upgrades fix by TheBeast and still not seeing the BOLD launcher or radar warning receiver on my 7c as of midway through the campaign in July '41, but if I start a brand new Mare Nostrum I get a 7b with both BOLD and RWR... odd, don't you think?

I was also wondering about that thread you posted, the one where you showed a wolf pack attacking - will missions like that be in the mod as well?

It is already in OHII. It is also in the stock campaign.
OHII just make it more likely that you will find wolfpaks and then meet convoys with them. It changes the paths that wolfpacks take so they spend more time in main shipping lanes

The must have mod for wolfpacks is TDWs IRAI. Without it the u-boats are dumb and wont attack:up:

Trouble after installing OH 1.4
 
Hi Trevally,

I am having this problem with OH 1.4, roll back to 1.3 and all is well, any ideas how to resolve?

I'm using TDW 6.8.0 and have deleted the zones.cfg but made no other alterations (apart from not loading the patches that were issued for 1.3)
