Let's also remember that the late Christopher Hitchens, the world's leading atheist thinker in his time, pointed out that the United States, the EU, the UN, and liberal-minded Israelis are overwhelmingly in favour of a two-state solution and oppose the construction of additional settlements. The problem is that the settlers have quite a lot of veto power in that regard, and these settlers are the type of people who believe the Messiah will only come once all the Arabs are out of the Holy Land and all the Jews were in it.
