Download U-boat Historical Specifications 1.7

Version 1.7 (04/17/2010)

-Reduced hydrophones detection range to -7; -5 caused issues in rougher seas and heavier boats, hydrophones should start detecting around -13 meters
-Removed the rod antenna from TDW compatible version; was still popping out of the water at times
-Added compatibility for Equipment Upgrades Fix Mod by merging the anti-sensor coatings settings in UBoot_sensors.sim; UHS installs after this mod

Thank you for updating UBoot_Sensors.sim file with the new Anti-Sensor Coating TextureSuffix change. As soon as TDW does the same I can remove this file from my Equipment Upgrades mod and reduce clutter/user confussion.

Got a possible bug to report. I say possible because I'm not sure if it is this mod or not. I recently installed the UHS 1.7 version and in my patrol I noticed that my sub has trouble staying on course. The rudder will sometimes go back and forth. In TC it looks like a tadpole swimming real fast on the navmap. Anyone else get this problem?

Zedi 04-24-11 02:47 PM

Yep, but I thought its only me. Confirmed.

It only happens sometimes. About half the time to be specific. My sub will just be plugging along on it's course and all of the sudden the rudder has a spasm and goes back and forth. The sub stays on the same course more or less but it's definitely bad for fuel economy.

pascal4541 04-24-11 06:04 PM

The same for me but also accelerating more than 1024...
I remove the mod but it's always the same :hmmm:

clayton 04-25-11 08:47 AM

Same here... haven't tried removing it yet. It happens when I speed time up, then if I go back to 1X it seems to work itself out. Sometimes. Also, in the bridge view, it seems to righten itself out too. At first, I thought the back and forth was some way to simulate accurate fuel consumption, but I think this is a bug. Gonna try removing it next. Concerned that it didn't go away from the last poster.

Could be.... I played around with LR drag with this release, Ill take a look into this problem and get up a new version.....

stoianm 04-25-11 12:34 PM

I like very much the LR balance.... about me this is not a problem... i remember that problem i had since long time ago... not from this mod.... anyway... it is apear only on nav map if you are going at very high TC... and seems coool for me because a ship or uboat is not going straight like a train on the railroad.. he is in the water... not on the highway... and i saw that the heading of uboat is not affected... so i am very hapy with this LR balance... and i never play at high TC... and even you play... just check your uboat heading... it is not changing... so i am asking myself what is the problem for you guys?... you prefer a straight movement on the map at TC 1024 or you prefer a nice LR balance?

Yes, absulutely, the mouvementr LR is very nice and very immersive...don't touch please ;)
all ways, even by disabling this mod, the problem persists...

jwilliams 04-25-11 03:12 PM

The rudder goes left and right at high TC in stock game also, If you have set waypoints. This is to keep sub on course. I dont have this happen if I dont use waypoints (e.g. real nav) and have set rudder to amidships.

Dignan 04-25-11 05:24 PM

I agree that a little LR movement would be realistic, but what I am experiencing is not a little, it's quite a lot. Even when I go out of TC and go to the bridge it is obvious that the boat is turning sharply to the left and right. It isn't just a little "navigation correction" it looks like the helmsman is going full left rudder then full right rudder...repeat. Too many drinks I suppose. :haha:

I don't think it's stock as I've never seen this before and I always use TC since I have very little time to play the game and I don't want to spend it just sailing in TC1 looking for ships.

Does your ship lose its heading?

Momentarily it does. At the worst it is going about 15 - 20 degrees off course but it always comes back. On a "macro" level, the ship stays on course but it's constantly oscillating back and forth. Like I said, if it was just a few degrees left and right that's fine but this seems to be more sever. But no, ultimately it stays on the course I set.
