The all hands at battlestations is a sound used for ENGLISH and AMERICAN vessels, such as destroyers. I've heard it in game in two ocasions: When a destroyer detected a torpedo going in its direction, the siren sounded off and she tryed to maneuver out of the torpedo's pach. When a destroyer detected that it was under attack by another vessel it didn't spotted already. About the periscope, I had that discussion with some subsim members not so long ago, but the veredict was that the periscope was manually manned most of the time, and not by motor, and besides it would be nerving to hear that sound all the time. Thanks! |

Thanks![/quote] Hi all, ok, then no way to hear the sws allhands + battlestations.wav, pity!!! However, I saw a youtube ingame video about the U-boat mission pack of SH4. They attached this kind of siren when periscope depth order is given form surface on a XXIII U-boat if my memory still functionning well. P. Thomsen --> Don't you think it should be nice to hear such a siren for all periscope order? About periscope maniability, ok then if no motor it's logical there is nothing in this way. But we don't feel the weight of the stuff during the rotation, do we? Tks for your reply and good hunting! |
diving siren
Hi P Thomsen!
Sorry it was about the XVIII u-boat. Below the youtube link, you can hear the siren at 1'10'' when diving order is given http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hcs70...eature=related :D love it! sink them all! |

 I dont feel like a betatester with this perfect mod! It might be too perfect ... while i was in a duell with some escorts i increased the volume and turned my ear close to the speaker to figure out what one crewmate was complaining about one of them damaged my tower running over it. :stare:
There is 1 thing about the alarm of solo escorts which are fighting the sub for hrs. Im no Navyguy but shouldnt be it in a permanent state of alert during the fight so no extra "on battlestation alert" should be necessairy. Everytime i fired on it after 20-60min i could here the sound. |
diving siren + question
Quote:
No, I didn't find anything about the diving siren... but if I were U-boot designer I will do it of course! How to alert the whole U-boot crew of diving procedure if no sound alert? Also I have a question to you, Thomsen --> I like the "periscope_Fire#1" sound. Do we have to rename it as "periscope_Fire#0" in order to play it ingame? Thanks. |
