I have alot problems with the hydrophone.
1) Sometimes i cant hear ships on he hydrophone even tho they are in a 10Km radius around me. I was at periscope depth and at 0 speed.
2) Sometimes i can hear the ship on he hydrophone but when i click on "Report sound contact" or "Follow nearest sound contact" he just says "No sound contact" until i manualy point the hydrophone to the bearing from which the sound comes.
3) Alot issues with "Estimate range" and "Precise range". Even tho the soundman reported the contact and i point the hydrophone to its bearing, when i click to get a precise range to target it just says "No target selected".

Also, i want to point out that thoose problems are not always present. Sometimes i dont have any problems at all.

The Hydrophone problems are not MMM related. There are a lot of posts reporting this. Sometimes it happens, sometimes not. :06:
I can say that it has happened to me too, but most of the times it works ok.

Compatible Conus00's Graphic Mod+SV's work is the same as Conus Graphic Mod 1.0?

Previously was possible (reademe in post1) to activate Conus Graphic Mod 1.0 after MMM p.1.

I was on a 1 year break from SH5 and i remember that back then the hydrophone was working almost perfectly thanks to TDWs exe patch. I never had any of those issues mentioned.

When i look at my old mod setup i notice that i have used Magnum Opus, which is not in my mod list atm. Now, i dunno if MO has anything to do with the way hydrophone works but would be nice if we knew which mods affect the hydrophone so that we could possibly isolate the problem.

TDW is the expert for hydrophone. Would be nice if he could help us! :salute:

Optional aspect ratio!
 
If I am correct "Manos Scopes-patch for 8x5" is patch for your monitor aspect ratio and it will not work for many others so it would be nice to put some explanation next to that line for noobs that will mess up their "mod soup".
Else from that it is great job man,in my opinnion best mega till now,keep up the good work!

I have one idea about what might cause your hydro problems. Sometime ago I had similiar situation. I had upgraded to the second hydrophone (can't remember the name now) and soon noticed that my contacts didn't make sound in hydrostation. So I messed with my mod soup and finally saw that it was working if I uninstall R.E.M_by_Xrundel_TheBeast_1.2. Not sure about this though, but I suggest you check it. UBoot_sensors.sim is the file that is causing worries I think. But it might be that this issue is fixed now?

And remember that slow moving ships don't make sound in hydrostation! Good luck!

This is the conclusion I came to last night. I tried loading each part in separately then running the game on a quick test, starting a new campaign every time with default settings and options to speed things up a bit. I sprinted out of the Keil pens into deeper water at the harbour mouth and dived to periscope depth and tested the hydrophone. Every time I got the sounds of the ships in the harbour. I repeated this same test all the way through my mod list until I ended up with it like this...

which is excactly the same as it was when the hydrophone wasn't working, but it was this time.

So I tried to load a new campaign and did my usual options....which included updating the sonar from the fixed array to the rotating array.....which wasn't available at that part of the war...sept 1939.

Sailed out of the channel, dived and.....no hydrophone sound, although I was getting hydrophone updates on the map, just no sound when I sat at the station. I returned and started another new campaign, with usual options but this time I didn't update the hydrophone, sailed out, dived and it worked...I could hear all ships in the vacinity.

BTW I have done the SH5.exe tweak by TDW, which works great when hydrophone is working.

So.....question is what now? Can pedrobas include a fix for this in v0.3 or even make installing the REM mod an option, I assume this is what may be causing the issue?

Me personally I would rather follow the technical updates as they happened in real life than maybe cheat a little, but thats a personal thing and I'm sure some folks like to have other options :yeah:

So you confirm that it only happens with KDB htdrophone? Have you tried the third Hydrophone, balkon.

No I haven't tried the balkon hydrophone yet.

Sorry to say it but I have not KDB installed in my uboat and still no sound in the hydrophone. I don't think it's connected to KDB.
