biggest complaint(aside from ridiculous savegame load times)...this ship would have never sunk had i not gone after it...at one time i had hit a tanker 6 times...heh two didnt explode however but still it was listing so heavy that the waves from high seas were actually putting part of the bridge under the waterline yet i followed it for several hours and it never went under. too bad i didnt have any deck ammo left either. lol also i rammed it several times to try and help it under but nothing

crowning achievement however was sinking the yamoto with my porpoise. lol it took all six torpedos. it was strangely unprotected lucky for me i just hung out submerged and then blew it up....probably 20 lifeboats afterwards

oh and one of my torpedoes went right next to a submerged submarine as i watched it in the event video...i should have paused or something but i wasnt ready for it and was probably fast forwarding even. how sweet if it was just two feet left and down she goes...unless it was me...i read someone got tagged by their own torpedo in game

Perhaps the devs have developed a NYGM or GWX compartmentalised flooding system. Multiple hits to already breeched areas won't do anything extra in that case.

I just got word that my order has been delayed a month! I guess Ubisoft have recalled theinitial press with hopes of Patching before re-release? Nice Pics by the way:up:

The General 03-23-07 05:02 AM

Yeah, so, I went down town and bought it from a shop, the old-fashioned way. I told Amazon to stick it!

P.S. I just want to know if it really is a difference in graphics quality from Ati based video cards to nVidia ones.

The funny thing is that my card is a poor little 128mb GeForce 6800 and I have a number of options disabled (personally, I don't like the post-processing filters anyway - it looks great when it's 'clean') :p

There is a downside to it though in that my frame rates can be quite low - but far from unplayable!

Couldn't tell you about ATI vs. nVidia - I'm sure both are fine with the game though.

Thanks and good hunting:up: Totally agree with post processing filters turned off.

P_Funk 03-23-07 06:01 AM

The post processing tends to make it look like some post modern take on a war zone. It reminds me alot of Gears of War of all things.

Scratch one flattop

On my first campaign patrol, in an S-Boat or out Manila, I caught a HUGE task force headed north in the western Celebes Sea. Three fleet carriers, and I targeted the lead one...a Shokaku class flattop crusing at 14 kts. Fired all 4 tubes at a range of 750yds, one dud, but the rest ran true and hit her just below the superstructure on the starboard side. In less than two minutes she was gone completely.

S.O.S.

Oh God please help! I have the following computer specs:

3.4 Ghz Pentium 4

1 GB RAM

6200SE Nvidia Geforce with 256MB RAM

I HAVE NO SOUND CARD

I HAVE A 1.1 PATCHED version of SH4 (UK) Version

The game runs so slowly as to be unplayable. Is the lack of sound card the crucial factor or is there something very wrong with this software?

Grothesj2 03-23-07 08:00 AM

Those are some sweet screen shots! I especially like the one of the ship twisting as it is breaking in half. *can hardly wait to be able to actually play*

Look at me Ma , I can walk on water .... 1.1 sub school deck gun. Pilots shot down, and no its not that the chute is missing, this was after the chute had gone. About 4 others were the same, he is in the treading water position but well above the water.

Grothesj2 03-23-07 10:13 AM

Wow, your sub is in very shallow water for that guy to be walking around ankle deep. :rotfl:
