Finally started watching Doctor Who for the first time in my life. The only one
in the finnish netlix is the 2005 one, so I went with that.

First impressions? Much like Star Trek: I enjoy it, but I dont find it THAT good.
Really like Ecclestone, though. Too bad he gets replaced in season 2 if I am not
mistaken. :-?

So far, my favorite episode has been the dual parter, The Empty Child & The Doctor Dances.
Hoooly poo was that creepy!

Mummy! Mummy! Are you my Mummy??
*shivers*

You'll find they just keep getting better. It's not about a "better" Doctor, but the show doesn't really improve so much as just maintain a consistently good level. After 32 seasons that's pretty remarkable.

There is only ONE Doctor and that's TOM BAKER, all others pale in comparison.

No, there are 11!:O:

Downly, try to see the classic series, there are quite good episodes!

The Tom Baker episodes have great special effects, like aluminum foil space suits. :)

I LOVE the effects in Genesis of the Daleks. Burning miniatures FTW.

The Moonbase to be animated!

The Moonbase is due for releases in October with animation from the same company that did the Tenth Planet.
I can't wait for The Tenth Planet and The Moonbase!

Sailor Steve 08-13-13 09:46 PM

I have a copy of both, taken from the older VHS releases. The pictures are quite clear and the missing fourth episode of 'The Tenth Planet' is reconstructed using production photos. 'The Moonbase' has two missing episodes, also reconstructed from photos.

I have both still and animated versions of 'The Invasion', and I have to admit that I prefer the still photos. The animation is cute and well done, but it just doesn't feel the same to me.

We can't argue tastes as we say here! But I like very much the animated version of the missing episodes of Invasion! So I can not wait for the new ones. And they should do the same to all the missing episodes.

Fine with me. I already have all the still-photo ones, so they can do what they like to please the rest now. :sunny:

I've just finished watching 'Warriors' Gate' from season 18. I've seen it many times, but this is the first time I've noticed the resemblance between Rorvik's ship
http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...ps1aca5c4d.jpg

And a certain much newer ship from a show I also love...

Nice catch! That episode is the last of the E-Space isn't?

Sailor Steve 10-04-13 08:08 PM

And the last of Romana, and the last of K-9 Mk 2.
