Typical flag-fest for the Ravens! If the Ravens were selling apple turnovers that would be one thing but unfortunate the Ravens were selling football turnovers and the Packers were buying. :shifty: These are the two things that kill the Ravens game after game. They make a career out of it! I called it a day at the half because I knew were the game was going and there was a second set of goal posts I wanted to get between before bedtime :shucks:. Oddly enough, we are still in the wild card hunt. Real long shot.......real looooooooooooong..........did I mention reeeeeaallly llloooonnnngggg :shifty: Flags for everyone!

And yes it was an ugly game, by both sides, but a win is a win :DL |
Yes, a win is a win in football. Not like baseball were there are three games played against the same team. Not once but several times during the season. Funny thing about football, the Saints could win all season but lose the very first playoff game ending the run. Baseball, World Series, seven games if needed. Makes a difference when you can say, "We will get'em tomorrow." That is the only thing I hate about football. For the players, physically, I can understand. Imagine a if they played as many games as the baseball players do. :o Football is sudden death. One play, one foul, one mistake and it could be all she wrote.

Haha, game on! That's the thing I love about football. :D Let's argue about the nature of sudden death in football. I have always supported the concept that the stakes are paramount in every game, and even more so in OT. There ain't no tomorrow in football, it's kill or be killed, sudden death is awesome. :yeah: "One play, one foul, one mistake and it could be all she wrote. " Thaaat's right :) You better deliver when it's crunch time, cause there ain't no do-overs or second chances, like in the more relaxed and forgiving baseball. This is war! One play, one yard--a game-winning catch with one toe dragging in the corner of the endzone with no time remaining--can be all that separates greatness from despair. Now, rebuttal please. :) |

Oh. :06:
I did find it refreshing that the coach, Sean Peyton of the Saints says they are not taking their foot off the gas all the way through the season, as opposed to the strategy the Colts employ annually, of securing HFA and resting their starters. I don't know if I am sold on that being the best way to reach the SB... will be interesting to watch dem Saints openly go for 16-0. |
Patriots did it but lost to the Giants...two years ago. That is what sucks for a team who kicks butt all season and then have one off day...just happens to be super bowl day. :x
