Nice pics!
And as for the earlier question, yeah, those are subs  I'm just nosing around the Black Sea fleet and just found an airbase full of Backfires :D Over at Gvarderskoye.
There's a couple of small subs down at Sevastopol, possibly Kilos...can't see anything at Odessa though :damn:

Kamchatka is worth a nosy at if you're in that area too:

Here's one for you, find Lushun sub base (north of the other Chinese sub base, South of Dalian), scroll south of Lushun and look for a white wake in the waters....yup...it's a Ming on the move!

Found with thanks to:

Ah, some of you must have the updated version. and for the question of when they were taken, the old free download was REALLY old, as in before 2000. how do I know? on the year 2000, I had a new pool that wasn't a circle built in my backyard. my old pool is still there in the old version, even though the thing says "xxxxxxxx" copyright 2006.

DanCanovas 10-06-06 11:20 AM

as clear as day!

i dont think these images are that old because the Germans wouldnt have the type 212a in 2000 would they?

ASWnut101 10-06-06 02:36 PM

no, but I said that the OLD version may be....I think....

Yahoshua 10-06-06 03:16 PM

I dunno if those are russian subs or not, the conn towers are a bit far forward to be so.

Perhaps a leftover from early days of reverse engineering?

You must have the NSA registered version then Xabba, because I've got censoring on mine ;)

7 Decommissioned boats at Rosyth:

Dreadnought, Churchill, Swiftsure and the 4 Resolution class polaris boats.

Linton 10-06-06 05:25 PM

Lesrae is it true that Swiftsure was withdrawn early as the crew got muddled in metres/feet and she dramatically exceeded her test depth?
