Pingjockey, it's good to have you on board...you, and the men that have gone before you serve and have served not just your country, but the world, the men of the silent service go and do things that no other branch of the military can do, they are the quiet problem solvers, their achievements often unheralded but no less important than the pilots over Baghdad or the tank crews in Basra. The Cold War may be over, but the ocean isn't always a friendlier place, it's the courage of men like you, that keeps our seas safe, and our world turning.

With a name like USS Texas that is a mighty big set of shoes to follow after.
She not only bears the name of the great state but one great battleship of which everyone here should one day visit, the only dreadnaught still in existance.
I have no doubt the new Tex will uphold the honor the former carried to such a high level.
