Firefox is all I use now-a-days. The straw with IE was on my old computer. It was about two years ago. Somewhere, somehow, I got a homepage hijacker. I don't visit questionable sites like warez or porn, either. I started getting popups, and even ads on webpages were changed to what the hijacker linked, too. I had Zone Alarm at the time. I couldn't run SpyBot or Adaware, or even my AV program. I used HijackThis. I was running Windows ME at the time. When I had the hijacker I noticed two running instances when I press Ctrl + Alt + Delete that I never noticed before. They were svchost and winproc32. Zone Alarm was alerting me that Windows Media Player wanted to connect to the Internet. I had used HijackThis to remove the hijacker. Curious as to why WMP wanted to connect, I let it on a hunch. My hunch was right, WMP was also infected. It redownloaded the hijacker. I removed it again. I tried to do a repair for IE at the time. I got an error. Also, when I tried to open a window, say My Computer, it was blank! Same thing for My Documents, Control Panel, etc. I had to reinstall Windows. After I reinstalled Windows, I left IE and installed Netscape 7.1 I then started using NS 7.2 when it came out. When I built my computer a year ago, I switched to Firefox. Never looked back. I only use IE for sites that need it. Some flash on some sites don't work properly. Kubota's website comes to mind. To this day, I refuse WMP connection to the Internet unless I know why it wants too (i.e. streaming video).

IE7 is the best !!! Or atleast equal as terrible as FF :D

If IE7 still has active X, its still highly vulnerable.

I love IE, it simply works on every website, so I can use it to surf the web for 100% if the websites, something one can not say about FF.

IE works good for me, in combination with Symantec my computer is safe. I have been online for about 10 years or so and nothing bad ever happend to my system because of that. What am i doing wrong ? :D

And I did get my share of virus emails, visiting dodgy website and downloading infected files.
