Big thanks from me too Jaesen. ~S!~ It looks great.

I've asked the Queen that you be made a Knight for your hard work on the SHIII Commander series. :D Tho somehow I don't think she'll listen to me. I'm only a very very distant cousin, And besides that, I'm on the wrong side of the Atlantic. But I tried at least. ;)

Downloading now...thx

Uh-oh - I was all fired up about trying this out (I've loved the previous version) and was even prepared to just jettison my current patrol so I could start back in port, but when I ran 2.3 one last time to roll it back per the instructions above, the "rollback" button is grayed out and it won't let me do that.

Is there something else I should do in order to get that "rollback" option lit up, or should I just uninstall 2.3 and press on with 2.4 at this point?

Thanks for all this great work, BTW

LOL - I just noticed that my avatar has gone Oriental for some reason - maybe I'm supposed to take my u-boat and deliver some Me-262 plans and atomic bomb materials to our Japanese allies or something now

I assigned the SOB weapons officer who missed a C3 cargo at 600 meters to watch and left him there.

A convoy is approaching and I'm sure I'll get sea sick when I try to line up a shot.

Thanks for this mod Mr. Scones

Sounds great. I have to echo that thank you. In a couple of months or so I'm going to sit back, relax, and have a nice long career with SH3Cmdr and all the other new mods I've missed out on.

Thanks and great work once again JScones.

A question for you -

I have decided (for various reasons) to do a complete fresh install of everything, including SH3. I've installed the game, patched it, installed SH3 commander (latest version) and then installed IuB 1.02 using JSGME.

The problem is that now my modified fatigue models no longer seem to be having any effect. The file I originally modified was 'crew fatigue models.cfg' (I made edits so my crew fatigue at a much slower rate.)

I kept this file and replaced it into C:\Program Files\SH3 Commander\Cfg after doing all the new installing. When I run the new version of SH3 commander my model is showing as one of the available fatigue models to choose from and I have selected it but it doesn't seem to be having any effect in game.

More than likely i've stuffed up somewhere but for the life of me I can't figure it out.

Try deleting the two 0 byte wmv files from ...\SilentHunterIII\data\Movies\Intro. Some systems don't like these files. It's inherant with both RUb and IUB (not SH3Cmdr).

Yes, No. Simply unzip straight into your SH3 Commander folder.

It appears only with active in port careers. For obvious reasons, it doesn't appear for retired, dead, or in patrol careers.

As a result, the SH3Cmdr 2.4.exe at 20,266 KB without the ship skins is about correct, especially since the CSP.7z is 20.944 KB.

Since the compression ration of "exe" to ".7z" is about 73% that would make the CSP.7z about 26,600 KB if it was an "exe", for a total of 46,866 KB (46.9 MB) if SH3Cmdr 2.4 & CSP were all together. That makes 2.4 & CSP 2,639 KB larger than 2.3.

Hope this relieves your questions.

Yeah, exactly what he said!

That's fine - a greyed Rollback button means that there are no SH3Cmdr files in SH3. Proceed to the next step. ;)

BTW, if you are upgrading from an earlier version of SH3Cmdr, you can safely install and run the upgrade when mid-patrol. You prolly can too if you have never installed SH3Cmdr before, but I haven't tested that aspect thoroughly.

I have a Question, when starting a new carrer what is the diffrence between Standerd SH3, Data, or Realistic for the crew config?

You installed straight over the top of your previous version didn't you? 'Cause if you didn't, the "Data" option would not be there. ;) If this is the case, I recommend a full uninstall and reinstall as you'll have files in your Date and Random folders that are no longer needed.

Anyway, "Standard SH3" means that the stock (or whatever is already installed into SH3) crew config files are used.

"Realistic" means that the SH3Cmdr crew config files are used - these are based on actually U-boat composition as best as SH3 will allow.

You can add your own crew configs, for example, the crew of U-46 or whatever, quite easily by creating a "U-46" folder under "Crew" and then the "data\cfg" folder structure. See the help file for more details.

From what you are saying you've done the right things.

I assume you upgraded from R2.3? If you upgraded from R2.2, then that could be your problem, but we'll go there only if we need to.

Have you checked your Basic.cfg file after SH3 has loaded (ie alt-tab back out and then check Basic.cfg to see if your values have been correctly inserted)? Try that and let me know.

I guess we gotta wait until someone decides to write a giant nightclub scene that runs throughout the entire war. Well, at least I'm hoping.

Yeah, there was never any intention that the Nightclub would have 100's of entries upon release. I'm quite happy that it has as many as it has - only one month has no entries, the rest have between 1 and 5. I'm sure some imaginative people around here will very shortly have updated files with more entries.

Marhkimov 01-18-06 03:42 AM

I love the amount of names you have in SH3 Commander. It is crazy how many you put in there. Nice!

It might be a while before we see Fritz Prien again... :rotfl:

Aha! Active careers but not in mid-patrol.

Thanks. I was beginning to worry it was one of those 'men-only' clubs. :88)

They still exist, FYI.

RayRay 01-18-06 07:03 AM

Very nice update to SH3CMDR. Thanks for adding the family name to the list. We had a few "Black Sheep".
I will enjoy the game even more so.

Actually Avon Lady, there are still some "ladies only" clubs too. Just saw one open the other day, aerobics, I think.

Hitman 01-18-06 10:59 AM

Nice update to SH3 Commander...downloading now and looking forward to seeing the Nightclub

I don't think there is anything wrong with "men only", "women only", "Blue blooded only" or any "...only" clubs as long as they are private associations.

Anyway, i would like to quote here the great Groucho Marx and his unique sense of humour, as he wrote a letter to a club resigning and saying as the reason: "I don't want to belong to a club that accepts people like me"

:rotfl:

Kalach 01-18-06 11:19 AM

I can't wait to see the nightclub in action :D
Though I don't think they will say anything that will suprise me ;) .

The additional names will be great too, I only managed to add ~100 names to my own list.
Also the seasonal waves  .

Actually that was the Beverly Hills Country Club. They had a long-standing "No Jews" policy, which they suspended just to ask Groucho to join. Of course he refused, and it wasn't until a reporter asked him why he would turn down a membership offer to America's most exclusive club that he (being Groucho and not wanting to cause trouble or sound bitter) replied "I have my standards. I wouldn't join any organization that would have me as a member!"
