LMAO.. spitting soda.. great now I gotta get another keyboard.

Okay now I'm cringing in the corner awaiting Avon Ladys wrath.

frogdog 11-01-05 02:38 PM

Forget opposing counsel...what I would not want to be is Avon Lady having to get on a bus in Tel Aviv to go to a movie and being surrounded by an assortment of raghead fruit cakes...anyone of which might be wearing a Semtex vest that day!! That takes guts...day in and day out. Hooyah! Avon Lady. Sink 'em all.

I live in Jerusalem. Rarely am I in Tel Aviv.

This is a bit silly. Fortunately, the situation hasn't been like that for the most part for quite some time now. Of course, it can all easily return. Israeli pols have been doing some really stupid things when it comes to security.

I think I better give a straight-faced answer just for the record: Jewish.

LOL wasent referring to the keyboard.. oh Never Mind :|\

frogdog 11-01-05 03:52 PM

Very few non-Jewish individuals...even those in very deep cover (Eskimos?) will post the Star of David flag on their web site. Hooyah Avon Lady.

Curval 11-01-05 04:33 PM

Okay, sorry...I honestly didn't look hard at his sig. I never looked at his web-site...didn't even know he had one.

I only asked because my Jewish friends aren't exactly "happy" when I say I'm playing a U-Boat sim on the German side.

Same goes for a fellow Rotarian who served on British escort destroyers during the war on the Murmansk runs.

frogdog 11-01-05 05:53 PM

Actually...its HER web site. Go ye forth and sin no more. FROGDOG

frogdog 11-01-05 06:00 PM

Also... my current wife is a Rotarian. They really have no sense of humor. She is also (God forbid, a lawyer). God bless us all Tiny Tim!!! More snipers...fewer lawyers.

kanderstag 11-01-05 06:08 PM

Just wait till you tell them about Call of Duty 3: Defend the Reichland!

Check this out, the american navy will allow women to do any of their jobs except submarine and seals. Not sure the difference of being a nuclear officer on a ship versus submarine, but things are much more open than I thought.

Ummmmm, :hmm: let me see, perhaps your Jewish friends are either 'anti-war', 'anti-german' or totally brainwashed! (BTW Avon Lady exemplifys what (we) playing SH3 is all about - ITS A COMMUNITY and it's a GAME - anything else is probably in the individuals 'mind', but 'Avon Lady' is much better qualified to answer you than I (being of German decent)!

Your Rotary Club friend probably revelled in the destruction of any German u-boot, chalking it up as a 'kill' - so, really, he has no room to talk! :-j

Moral here is 'ALL' war brings unnecessary suffering (mostly to innocents), the Jews had their own form of private hell in the 'Holocaust', Britain had 'Dunkirk', France, had their 'fair share of Wars', Russia had their 'revolution' and, Germany had their own holocaust in the fire storm of 'Dresden'.

Even more recently new wars have captured the World's attention: Vietnam, IRA, Mogadishu, Kosova, Iraq etcettra....

We, here on the forums (and this is not directed at you Curval) accept that we have chosen a game that has something of an historical theme - but.....................

It beats the hell out of 'Doom' or 'Need for Speed' :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Curval 11-01-05 07:00 PM

Wow...not sure what everyone's problem here is...I'm just trying to have a wee discussion.

Avon Lady...I meant no offense. I was just trying to get your "take" on playing on the German side being Jewish.

frogdog 11-01-05 07:59 PM

As we play a game...the thrill is in the kill...regardless of one's political persuasion. In "real life"...its makes all the difference in the world. Yea games...boo actual war. Games are fun (regardless of "side")...actual war is a 100% bummer...regardless of "side". Been there, done both...games (with female advesaries/friendlies) beat real war...hands down... always. Go Lady Submariners!!! Blast your enemies to the god (or gods) you believe in. FROGDOG.

Well, it's not like the rest of us are Nazies or anything either. :P My country was occupied by the Germans, but still I enjoy games where I get to be them. Why? Maybe there's something fulfilling about being the aggressor, maybe it's the German technology, maybe it's the language or the smart uniforms, I don't know. Besides, lack of good cuss-words notwithstanding, German has got to be the the most military language in the world :)

Also, why do we play pirate games, when we know the sort of cruelty many pirates were responsible for? Because it's fun, and perhaps it's fun to be the villain sometimes. :arrgh!:

And the German subs are the purtiest. That's what I think, anyway.
