...when...

(I find it funny but i'm sure my housemate doesn't!!) - any time anything unexpected happens, like the postman dropping letters thru the letterbox or the Electricity meter reading guy knocks on the door i run up and down the Hallway screaming "ALARM" followed by "deeper, deeper - Chief, she must be able to take this depth!!!"

DerKaleun 08-19-05 09:54 PM

When flying from Krautville do Great Britain, I always look out of the cockpit windows on the english channel and bore my captain with stories of sinkings which have taken place, here, here, here and here :rotfl:

The REFSO aera nav intersection is exacly where I once got my butt DC´d pretty badly... every time i fly over it i think of my poor U-52 getting punded by dozens of cans.

Some time during take off, I replace the callout "Positive Climb" with "Boot steigt Herr Kaleun!" :D

I shouldn´t play that much I guess... :hmm:

...but I can´t help myself. This game kicks ass, and today again 83K of Tonnage went home on 100% realism

PS: Co tu do diabla tyle polaków siedzi ? Jak by matka wjiedziala ze plywacie na szkopskich U-bootach :rotfl:

You know you have playing sh3 too much when You logon to subsim 4-5 times a day to go to sh3 forums

oh wait, im guilty as charged on this one

:lurk:

Calculon 08-19-05 10:22 PM

You know when you're playing too much SH3 when:
- the lights go out and you use a flashlight with a red filter to check the breaker panel
- one of your favorite tunes is the Kriegsmarine march

:D

Also, you might have been playing alittle too long when you start trying to take command of the U-boat in Medal of Honor MP :) and crying after watching it blown sky high ...

Silent Hunter III *PL* Dostalem za darmo z rodzicow  i Uboot to ciekawa rzecz :know:

Nice tonnage

You know you need a SHIII fix, when you have been out to sea, and see this floating around your ship.

From a recent PhotoEx with the USS Kitty Hawk and USS Boxer. Homer Simpson voice on/: Mmmmmm, tonnage / Voice off

You know you're playing to many subsims when you find out that the guy who towed your car home from Burbank to Pasadena served aboard the Foxtrot diesel boat you tracked all over the Mediterranean 20 years before.

A true story, I gave him my copy of Blind Man's Bluff & he gave me his Soviet Navy Enlisted Man's pin.

When you're sitting on the can and hear that splash, "Wasserbomb" comes to your mind.

Iknow, I know, VERY crude! At least I didn't call it out!

I'll bet none of you will be able to use the john now without thinking of that. ;)

Sorry

ICBM 08-20-05 08:15 AM

.... When you look at the sky right above you and wonder when the Defs fixed the 'Star Gate' texture glitch.

Calculon 08-20-05 09:33 AM

Forgot one...
When you need to play the MenuMaster_Loop.mp3 (the music from the main menu) in the background the entire day you're at the office.

I expect to hear a watch officer say "aircraft spotted".

For a while I would get a "knee-jerk" turn of the head.

BTW, I'm south denver metro area for those who are wondering.

I have a similar problem with Sub Command and real life Helos
Every time I hear a helicopter I can't rest until I've spotted where it is, and I have the same 'knee-jerk' turn of the head reflex too.
Scary :-?

Der Schatten 08-21-05 10:17 AM

Hmmmm........SH3 flashbacks when:
When I'm in an underground parking garage and see the exposed pipes, electrical conduits and the little wire cages they put around light bulbs.
When I'm fishing on a foggy morning and picture looking up at the suddenly appearing bow off a DD coming out of the mist.
When we do our monthly fire alarm at work and the lights flash and the alarms go off.
When ever I see/hear seagulls (luckily there arent many nurses around here that stand on the docks and throw flowers into the water!)
ANY noise that even REMOTELY sounds like "Ping"!

Kpt. Lehmann 08-21-05 11:58 AM

:rotfl: c0sm1c :rotfl:

I thought I was the only one who did that!

I am 1/2 of an ambulance crew here at home and I would say "ALLE MASCHINEN STOPP!" whenever we would come to a stop light/ stop sign.

My partner/ other ambulance crewman/ has even begun to copy me... and he doesn't even play SH3.

1916 08-21-05 01:52 PM

You know you've been playing too much SH III (happened to me) when you start sweating when you hear a ping and don't stop untill you've identified the source :P

Twitchy 10-15-05 09:55 PM

I'm sorry but I'm gonna have to revive this thread.

You know you play too much SH3 when you are in a particularly boring class and you reach for the Time Compression button.

You know you play too much SH3 when, instead of saying "'sup Rich" to your friend you say "sub Rich"

asurmen 10-15-05 10:20 PM

My little addiction:

When you buy read light bulbs for your room then when it gets night you shout at a friend "Rig for Red"

Yes! That happens to me!
I live in Cadiz, near Rota Naval Base, and the helo traffic is heavy (sometimes also Orions). When I find the helo, the next thing I do is identify it. A Seaking! dive the ship! ups, I'm driving my car... dive the car! :rotfl:

Other thing that tells you are playing too much is have ASDIC sound in your mobile phone for incomming messages.

And, of course, if you have a red light on your desk :D
