Wow! August picked the Browns too

Patriots @ Lions should be an easy pick for New England

I hear Tom Brady and Bill Belichick are not happy with each other, but it's probably just a click bait rumor. :yep:

I have made a terrible decision.

But only because the Offense can't stay on the field.

Got to keep the faith ... I didn't even know who this guy Mayfield was till he came on the field with just a few minutes left in the first half. I know who he is now, a winner.

Wouldn't it be great if the Browns won the rest of their games this year and even go to the playoffs.

For those that don't know the Cleveland Browns won their first game since December 24th 2016 last night against the New York Jets 21-17.

Did you know that the first Monday night football game was played between the Browns and Jets back in 1970?

About being a fan of a team.

I have a lot more respect for a fan who support his or her team whatever the situations is during the season

Than a fan who drop their team because they start to loose.

Back to Sundays games.

Have taken notice from your picks.

Going to use them when I make this weeks Bet12 on this Danish betting page.

It's why i will never pick against the Patriots. They could be 50 point underdogs and i'd still pick them to win. Some day it might mean a regular -1 on my pick count but in the last 15 years it's been good to me. :)

Well.... He did win the Heisman last year and was the first pick overall....

Even though he only played a half a game, he's the first quarterback I've seen in a Browns uniform in 25 years that actually looked like he knew what he was doing. It's been that long.

What's amazing is that he hasn't played more than 30ish snaps with the first team. Total, ever. Once they get familiar with each other, they may actually be a competent team.

I know he was big, but I didn't know he was good ... I don't pay much attention to football except when it is the season. The QB for the NY Jets was rookie too and available in the same draft, but the Browns chose Mayfield. Finally they did something right.

Can you please explain how the Cleveland Browns owner became the owner after he had the Baltimore Colts taken away from him. I never understood that one.

Mr Quatro 09-22-18 10:57 AM

Last Sundays NFL-matches had 6 surprises.

Meaning the favorit lost or played equal (Draw)

The question about tomorrows NFL-games are.

How many surprises will there be and where.

I didn't know that he was, and I can't seem to find anything about him owning any part of the Colts.

He bought a percentage of the Steelers in 2008, but had to sell that to gain ownership of the Browns in 2012. Considering the Colts moved in 1982, I don't think he was into NFL ownership then.

Okay I was messed up ... it was the Browns controversial move to Baltimore that I was thinking of and the Browns have never been great again (till now)

"November 6, 1995, Browns owner Art Modell announced his intention to move Cleveland's team to Baltimore".

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Histor...anapolis_Colts

Quote:

This decision helped set in motion the relocation of the Cleveland Browns to Baltimore. On November 6, 1995, Browns owner Art Modell announced his intention to move Cleveland's team to Baltimore. The decision also triggered a flurry of legal activity. Finally, representatives of both cities and the NFL reached a settlement on February 9, 1996. It stipulated that the Browns' name, colors, and history of the franchise were to remain in Cleveland. It kept the Browns legacy in Cleveland, and Modell took his players and organization to Baltimore, which would be officially regarded as an expansion team. After the Browns relocated to Baltimore, Modell offered the Irsay family $5 million for the rights to the Colts heritage. Jim Irsay replied that it would take at least $50 million to relinquish the Colts name. Therefore, the new Baltimore team was named the Ravens after a fan vote. The Ravens have since won Super Bowls following the 2000 and 2012 seasons.

One win does not make us great. It just fills us with false hope, just to be crushed yet again, dashed upon the rocks that guard the shores of decency.

Hope some of you NFL-expert can help me.

Earlier yesterday I saw the first match here

49'ers @ Chiefs.

During the 4th quarter I was for some minute in my kitchen.

When returning I manage to get a glimpse of following text on the screen

3rd Down convers-something and then some numbers 5/19 and an another but I didn't get it.

What does this mean ?

Markus

Gargamel 09-23-18 06:54 PM

Aight....

In American Hand Egg, when a team gains control of the ball, they have 4 attempts to move the ball at least 10 yards (about 10 meters). If they successfully move the ball 10 yards within those 4 tries, and have not scored, they get another 4 tries. And so on.

If, after 4 tries, they have not moved the ball 10 yards, the opposing team gains control of the ball where it lies. And since a team usually starts from within their half of the field, that would make it easy for the opposing team to score. So, at any time they feel they cannot earn those 10 yards, a team may elect to kick the ball away to force the other team to start farther down the field.

Each try is called a 'down'. Usually a team will kick the ball (punt) on fourth down. So that really only gives them 3 real downs to move the ball 10 yards. The ability to move the ball past the 10 yard mark on third down and get a new set of downs, is called a "third down conversion".

Usually by the time the team gets to 3rd down, they are fairly close to having moved the ball 10 yards, so 3rd down conversions is a decent statistic when looking at the offense's effectiveness.

A team with a high 3rd down conversion rate stays on the field longer, increasing their chances of scoring. While a team with a low rate, the opposite is true.
