Probably not a coincidence. But the GOP should keep one major fact in mind: in those coastal states with high property values, not all those who will be affected are DEMs; there are an awful lot of GOP voters owning high value properties who may be less inclined to vote for GOP candidates who pass a tax law increasing their tax bite; as it stands now, the GOP in CA has less registered voters than the DEMs and way less than voters registered as Independents and CA-GOP is hemorrhaging voters at a rising rate; if the GOP thinks GOP voters who will be affected by their new tax proposals will continue to vote GOP, they may be rudely surprised...

$500,000 buys you half a townhouse in the development just down the road from where I live...and they are sold before the construction is complete.

That's nuts.

A really huge problem with any of the GOP tax proposals is the huge disconnect the GOP Congress seems to have with the realities of the economic state of everyday US citizens. Let's take a look at one big, glaring example:

The median household income in the US is just under USD $60,000:

Median U.S. Household Income Up for 2nd Straight Year --

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/09/12/b...recession.html

So, technically, the mark point of "middle-class" is USD $60,000...

...however, the GOP members of Congress tasked with formulating a new tax code see things very, very, differently:

GOP talking points on tax bill say $450k is “low- and middle-income” --

https://shareblue.com/gop-talking-po...middle-income/

That's a whopping differences of about USD $390,000 the realities of the average US taxpayer and the fallacies of the GOP Congress members. Under the GOP view, can it be presumed someone with a household income under USD $450k might be eligible for some sort of public relief?... :03: :D
