Will this work for SC (steam version), too?

I am currently experiencing a horrible screen blink.

I would just go for it if you haven't already. It's a pretty painless thing to put the file in there and remove it if it doesn't do anything.

You mast find the dangerouswaters.ini file (open it with word pad) inside the game folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Sonalysts Combat Simulations\Dangerous Water) and change the .ModeID from 1 to 3, then save and you ll get the maximum resolution.

FYI: 0 gives you 640 x 480
1 gives you 800 x 600
2 gives you 1024 x 768
3 gives you 1280 x 1024
and 4 gives you 1600 x 1200

Anyway to get it to display 1920x1200?

I've got Fleet Command working at that resolution using a Glide wrapper, but can't seem to get DW to do so.

It seems like the resolutions are pretty well hard coded into the game based on the fact that I've never seen any custom resolution stuff. 16:9 or 16:10, in your case, would be cool to have.

Got two visual bugs. Using Windows 10 with a R9 270 and the latest driver.

TMA for the FFG aren't shown.

Statcard for 2D map also isn't shown.

I have an entry in the wrapper.log when I close the game.
Code:

Call failed 0x88760868

sub command fix ?

I tried loading the wrapper into the folde, now all I have is black screen with graphics error.
This is probably an easy fix but...... age is catching up with me.
are any subsim's going to survive 10 ?

thanx

When you say "loading the wrapper into the folder". you do mean, you extracted the dll file out of the winzip file and placed it in the game directory, right?

I am using the Steam version of the game, so the exact location of your game directory may differ, but this is what it appears like for me, and works. Does this help?

Ahoy from the depths of obscurity lads :salute::salute:

So, I bought the Steam pack of Sub Command, Fleet Command, 688i and Dangerous Waters on sale a looong time ago. I recently upgraded to a computer that isn't a potato, running Windows 10, and they all seemed to work fine until I uninstalled DW and now when I reinstall it, it instantly goes to a "Close Program" dialogue.

I've tried the 8.1 fix which got it to work once, but as soon as I quit, back to normal.

Any ideas?
