I am scheduled to defend my dissertation on 24 Dec. I *might* have a good christmas present :D... or not. :wah:

I am not expecting any gifts, as I always tell people not to spend money on gifts for me.
I think it's far more important to spend the day, or just dinner, in the company of your loved ones, having a good time. Gifts are a poor substitute to love.

Incidentally, this is the same reason I usually keep very silent about my birthday. People go for gifts, which I think is a waste of money, when I value their company much more.
