I used to go to a local Japanese language mivie theater whhere they screened triple features for $1.00. The films were either older movies or newer B-grade movies (and a few C-grade or lower). One film, made in the mid-70s, had a plot revolving around the Yakuza during the American Occupation of Japan just after WW2. There was one scen where the gang members were dealing with some GIs in the black market. The American actors appeared to be non-professionals (to say the least) who were just hired at random. The Americans spoke Japanese so as to avoid the expense of having to subtitle or dub the scene. One of the "actors" was obviously from the very deepest part of Texas and I'll never forget the sight and sounds of him saying "Boku no okane desu ka, y'all?"...

I had the pleasure of guarding one of Graz's more interesting features: the famous Graz Armory, left completely intact from the Moslem Turk's last invasion,(circa 1520's) was brought to the museum in San Francisco and opened by hometown hero Arnold Swartzenegger himself; fascinating armor exhibit! Rows of pikes and everyday armor for everyday Grazians defending their city from the Moslem terror of the day. Colin Farrel actually wears the correct 'closed' helmet from the era and the armory in the movie, 'The New World' and a similar helmet was found in a garbage dump in a early Virginia plantation garbage(National Geographic) dump that had been massacred by Powhaten Indians. Good Austrian military gear was widely marketed, even back then. :arrgh!:

I had a great experience in the Netherlands about 5 years ago.

Everyone spoke crisp English (with an american accent, I expected brit pronunciation) Alot of smiles, and even questions from total strangers about our country and customs, a very polite people.

American tourists can sometimes bring the entitled crap with them, not knowing they are guests, and should behave as so, respect local customs etc...I seen it when I visited London in my youth, and watched stupid tourists poke at the Buckingham Palace guards.

They really should be allowed to beat people with their rifle butts.
