A merchant vessel sporting a couple of 40mm Gatling cannons or a Phalanx system manned by marksmen would be the least expensive deterrent. Then the merchants can start painting pirate kill emblems on their hulls:up:
Any volunteers? :03::D :arrgh!::arrgh!::arrgh!: Got three this week. |
The RN must have some old ones going spare, they're scrapping plenty of vessels.

Only statement I can give on piracy is...
Don't get caught. They won't catch you either, too stupid, the Russians and Australians have been killing (program name deleted) for years. At worse I got a letter, telling me to stop, one letter in 10 years. Maybe if shows would make worldwide releases, or if VATs did not exist. maybe more people will buy your pile of crap? How come the minute the USA wants a tarrif, everyone screams, but most other countries charge a VAT for all imports? Including digital media, video games and movies. (I paid 40$ usd for far cry 3 new, my aussie buddy paid 60$ usd.) Maybe theft is a by product of greed? Yes indeed! |
Are you talking about the same piracy this thread is themed on?
|
Why would you need a helicopter or a drone? Just outfit the commercial vessels with a pair of 40mm Bofors mounts.

Q Ships would be the best answer by far.

Ja! Jaaah...! Or a Leopard-2 turret, pulled behind in a rubber boat! :D I see a whole new range of scenarios being designed in SBP! Rubberduck busting! :woot: I assume it is more convenient and probably cheaper to have a drone around, instead of turning all traders into armed blockade breakers. Arming all merchants with installed platforms politically is probably no option either. |
