These are the three from the initial batch Image Shack wouldn't allow me to upload yesterday.

..and Where's that rascal Steed?

I must say I'm not very impressed with ImageShack atm, it won't allow a great many uploads in a single post before getting awkward and missing some out.

Looks like a good show Jim. The aircraft look good too. Great to see you meeting Tony. Reminds me of when I met Francis (JU88) on a business trip over to the UK a few years back.only difference was both of us had a few samples of the local ale.

Rgr that Grant but I'm very annoyed ImageShack won't allow more shots to be uploaded before it goes belly up :nope:

I'll try a few more now but honestly mate, the way things are currently going it would take a couple of month to get them all uploaded :nope:

Ooh, lookie - choptywopters!

I'm suddenly reminded of a very old joke: Bob Hope was hosting some awards show back in the '50s. His first line was "The NBC censors have informed me that I have to tell you I arrived by heckticopter."

Herr-Berbunch 07-09-13 09:41 AM

Jim's kindly given me permission to add my pics to this thread, there are only six - I was using camera phone which has a lens defect so pics have been edited to remove that, and/or cropped and resized.

1/2. On arrival at the southern end of the airfield we had to cross 02's threshold but wait whilst a 5 Sqn Sentinal took off. This aircraft was to return later in the day escorted by the Red Arrows - I'd seen them the day before whilst on a bike ride but I couldn't tell exactly what the aircraft was and despite flying right over my village the wife didn't know either (other than it was with the Red Arrows!). Minutes after the Sentinal/Reds flew by they were followed by the Lancaster. Happy cycling. :D I also bumped into a mate who is aircrew on Sentinals, had a peek inside and my little girl sat in the pilot's seat - very excited. Then we had a look down in the business end - very boring, nothing was switched on, three consoles (running Windows!!!) for the imaging/battlespace management and that's about it.

3/4/5. Red Arrows, and the heart they make in the sky. Apologies for the poor quality.

6. What I went for. Luckily we were parked not far from 02's threshold, so just about everything touched down right next to us - particularly the Vulcan.

Ah, goodbye old friend - the VC10. :salute:

Many happy hours in the back of those jetting around the world, sitting backwards ('tis the safest way!), and a couple of refuelling trips.

And I was working when this happened - A slight error in fuelling, all in the tail and empty everywhere else - written off/not economically viable.
