What we call the Typhoon was developed as Project 941, codenamed "Akula" by the Soviet Navy.

What we call the Akula was developed as Project 971, codenamed "Pike" by the Soviet Navy.

Simples :O:

So we're both right! :D

I'm a NATO man myself... :O:

Either way...these are cooler than biologic sharks. I'd rather see a Project 971 Akula "Pike" in it's natural habitat. :O:

Want to visit the UK when it isn't snowing or raining
Would love to meet Macca in the UK when it isn't raining
I want to drive a Ford Mk IV or GT40 Mk II

Young buna came home this morning (Aruba > Miami > Heathrow > Newcastle) he put the info he received from the Seattle office on a memory stick because it is in pdf format and of considerable size (he reckons).

His baggage went awol in transit at Miami but is being flown over as I type this and is expected some time tomorrow.

As far as he can remember the ship leaves Vancouver on 1st June which is the first day of the wife and my vacation/holiday (1st - 16th) so it may not be possible to join the ship in time.

He informs us he has got other ships schedules for the Caribbean and Asia areas on the pdf as well so we might get this so far elusive freebie yet.

Failing that we will go to Oludeniz in Turkey because that is one country we've yet to visit and the Blue Lagoon is one of the most beautiful sites we reckon.

Whoa, if you somehow make it to Seattle?:hmmm: I'd drive up for that!:Kaleun_Cheers:

  • Take part at a Sea Shepherd operation
  • Be at a private concert from my fav. band
  • Visit Canada one more time

That is where his company head office is (Holland America Lines) but honestly Jason, it's beginning to look like his mam and I will be going on a cruise not so far away...it is physically impossible to get to Vancouver in one day I'm beginning to reckon.

I wish I was able to go to a Subsim Meet.

With my age, I probably wouldn't fit in though. Meeting you guys would be cool. I've read all about the other meets and it sounds like a lot of fun. :)

It just isn't possible for me to go to one.... :wah:

Not sure what age has got to do with it...how old are you?

I won't give my specific age out online...but there's you a range.

Yeah I would have a parent along if I came...and all the meets are a bit of a distance away from me. :hmmm:

Herr-Berbunch 03-25-13 08:19 AM

I'm sure there'll be a meet when you're older, until then you'll have to enjoy our company online instead.

A bucket list from me?

Visit New Zealand. Travel on the Rocky Mountaineer (so visit Canada then!). Get back into skydiving, and travel the world's dropzones, do a HALO jump. Go trekking in Oman's Dhofar region. Cycle LEJOGLE. Learn to fly. Attend a SS meet. Visit some great geographical features throughout the world.

There are many others, I think the first one needs to be with the lottery to facilitate the others. :-?
