ok, this is getting beyond frustrating. Let me tell you what is going on over here...

1. Removed everything.

2. Ran CCleaner and repaired registry.

3. Installed SH3.

4. Ran Starforce removal which then told me to restart.

5. After restart, I ran SH3 and first thing that pops up is "protection system" (Is this Starforce?) "Application installed successfully. Reboot computer to complete installation". It then asked to continue. If I say no, it does nothing so I say yes and it restarts my computer again.

6. Run SH3, says checking disk still but game starts.

7. Install Patch 1.4. Start SH3 and protection system application installed successfully again. Same as 5. So I restart again. And same crap, seems like the starforce is still there. Still can't install GWX3 and just out of ideas.

Is there a zip file containing GWX3? I tried changing EXE extension to ZIP which has worked in some cases but not this case. What am I doing wrong?

Sorry so many questions but I have dozens of games with dozens of mods attached to them and have never encountered any problems like this game is causing me.

Five bucks, already patched to 1.4, no StarForce.

I've just gotten back into the game. I haven't played since probably May.

so I got the game tonight, installed no problem. Started up and saw 1.4 in the corner.

Went to my GWX3.exe and installed into sh3 root folder, looked good I could hear wolves in the background howling but as soon as the first file begins to install I get the same exact errors as before.

So now I am thinking I got a bad copy of GWX3, try to dl it again but both links go to Gamefront which is nothing but a refresh every second to nowhere. I feel like I am about to get hit with a virus at any time. Needless to say I was unsuccessful in downloading a new version.

I also have (and I have no idea where I got this from) 7 files that are GWX3-1 thru GWX3-7.bin What exactly are these files and where should they go?

The seven files should all go into one folder (call it anything you like, but GWX works as good as anything). Then run the .exe. If you have them in separate places that may be why the install is failing.

If that doesn't work, go to any post by Jimbuna and follow the link above his sig. Guaranteed good file. Also it's my understanding that the one in the GWX homepage (also available from Jim's sig) is a good working copy.

I have just about had it with this game, I put those files in one file. Ran exe and same crap, put everything into root and ran exe and same crap, went to download new GWX3 and same crap, the sig under jimbunas page to mediafire doesnt take me to that file, wants me to sign in...I dont have an account and when I try to download from GW site which takes you to gamefront, I see the file there GWX3.exe and select it but it just refreshes the page every second and goes nowhere. I use Internet explorer and have had maddddd problems with gamefront in the past, I bet I can dl it with mozilla and I bet I get a virus, same crap that happened to me in the past. Like I said I have dozens of games with dozens of mods and have NEVER EVER EVER had these problems, I guarantee one thing it has nothing to do with anything I am doing.

Where did those 7 files even come from. If I download GWX3 from anyones site I would get these 7 files plus the EXE? I see there are also seperate downloads for GWX3-1 thru 7.bin, would one need to dl those plus the exe or just the exe?

What is this JSGME file it is referrin to? Is there something else I have to install after installation of the game? I installed game and went straight to trying to install GWX3 and no luck, is there a step in between I dont know about? Seems like a monkey could do it so what could the problem possibly be?

Don't forget to uninstall any previous SH3 installations as well as the SH3 folder in MyDocs and perform a registry clean before attempting a new install.

Excellent!!! That worked like a champ...thank you soo much, I must have had some bad bin files I guess.

One other question, I installed the SH3 Commander File for GWX3 but I have no icon to launch Commander and when I had it installed before the game said Loaded using SH3 Commander, so I guess my question is how do I know Commander is running?

You have to download and start Commander before you start Sh3. I have an icon for Commander and theres a button in Commander that starts Sh3.

btw....Commander is a GREAT mod.

Go into the SH3 Commander folder, right-click the SH3C.exe and select 'Create Shortcut'. Move the shortcut to your desktop. Voila! Instant Icon!

As Red October said, when you start Commander you'll get the Commander screen with all its options. After you set the career up the way you want, click the button at the bottom right that says 'Strart SH3'. You'll know Commander is running. :sunny:

OK guys, I finally got it...I thought I was supposed to use the Commander for GWX3 in lieu of SH3 Commander...hope that makes sense, either way I got it.
