How's this for a conspiracy theory?

Pakistan's Foreign Minister makes a surprise visit to the White House, meets behind closed doors with administration and Pentagon officials, and flies home.

A couple weeks later, the raid goes down, "without Pakistan's knowledge or permission".

As a former ISI operative told me on my recent travels, paraphrasing as my Urdu sux,

"Does your country really think the world's most wanted terrorist, decades on the run, with tons of opsec experience, stayed in one place for that long, with no guards around him?"

I had to admit, I do not. I'm still convinced Bin Laden died in Tora Bora.

When I told him, he just smiled, nodded and poured us another cup of tea.

There are absolutly no weird or conspiracy about his death.

It's not more than an hour ago, that I heard following on the danish CNN(TV2News) that after he "was killed some of the other guys went into the bedrum and shot him several times at close range"

When they said that, I remembered how The romanian dictator was killed.

He got a trail-was sentence to death, but they how was ordered to do the job, couldn't wait, due to the deep hate towards the former dictator.

I think it's the same here -Hate, deep hate against a terrorist that have done some terrible things against USA and it's friends.

SO! There's nothing weird about his death.

BASTA

I don't get all the hemming and hawing over this. The bastard's dead. Good. I don't care if Osama had a gun, he didn't have a gun, he invited the SEALs in for tea or he plead for his life on his knees. He deserved nothing more than what he got.

This guy's just trying to cash in on the fact that he's got a bit of inside info on the raid, integrity be damned. Shameful.

To me, it seems that the angst comes from two groups:

1. Conspiracy theorists who thrive on this kind of stuff. No amount of proof will ever satiate their need to see themselves as part of something bigger. See the Truther movement.

2. Team R true believers that are still butthurt over 2008. The fact that bin Laden was killed on Obama's watch only adds to their frustration.

As for the 'author' (he no doubt had a ghostwriter) of this book, I'd say that you're right; he wants to cash in on his involvement. Military service does not render one immune to greed.

And Gaddafi died from wounds he got in a firefight.
