Just a quick post to introduce myself. I've played Silent Hunter 2, 3, 4 and 5. I'm 35 years old, married with three daughters, unfortunately it is unlikely any will become submarine captains.

It's the atmosphere of the Silent Hunter games that I love, you can really believe you're the captain of a 44 man submarine, operating almost completely independent of any higher authority.
Love the modding community, they make me realise like there are others just like me who care whether that tiny little flag is historically accurate!

Subsim has more than 70,000 members. The great majority sign up and start downloading things. Hosting that costs a large amount of money, and Subsim doesn't make you donate to download, but they do ask that you become an active part of the community by posting more. Downloads are tied to posting.

hi,
I found my silent hunter 3 cd after 2 years. Sh3 is good game, but with mods is the best game:O: I search some mods (gwx, new skins ...) I remember page silenthunter.cz and Die Kapitane forum. There is a lot of links to this forum and if I want the best mods for sh3 I need to register.
