From Dan to Dan: Congratulations and all the best for your family. 1+1=3.
I have 2 daughters, 7 and 11 of age. So you are one kid behind. Kid one was born 21.10.

Congratulations to the family now consisting of 3! You now enter a new chapter in your lives. No sleep. Soiled undergarment changing. New language that is somewhere between gurgling and Klingon. Everyday those little eyes will look into yours expecting all the answers. It will take a lifetime to answer them all. Good luck and God bless as you embark into fatherhood and motherhood. :yeah:

Gratz Dan :yeah:

Just remember that no matter how cute they look now, a baby is just a future teenager. Welcome to hell. :O:

Children are some of life's most precious treasures....

As such they should be kept buried deep in underground vaults.

:D

Read your bible. What was god's ultimate punishment for the sins of Adam and Eve? They had children.

:D:D

To prepare yourself for fatherhood, go to the local chemist, tip the contents of your wallet onto the counter and tell the pharmacist to help himself. Then go to the supermarket. Arrange to have your paycheck paid directly to their office. Go home. Pick up the newspaper and read it for the last time in peace.

:D:D:D

Here is how you practice feeding your baby.

1. Hollow out a melon

2. Make a small hole in the side of the melon and suspend the melon from the ceiling. Make it swing side to side

3. Get a bowl of soggy cornflakes and attempt to spoon them into the swaying melon while pretending to be an airplane.

4. Continue until half the cornflakes are gone

5. Tip the rest in your lap, making sure that a lot of it falls on the floor

6. Once you can do this, you are ready to feed your baby.

Congrats!

You used to lose sleep worrying about development problems and got paid money for it.

Now you will lose sleep about an ungodly number of things, but there will be times when the reward is worth more than you feel your heart can hold.

May you, your wife and daughter be safe, healthy and enjoy the years to come. Be blessed.

Thanks for all the wishes - I just got back to work after 3 weeks of guarding the baby :)

Its fun and scary at the same time. Apparently the girl took a lot from me, being blonde and ... not sleeping very much. According to my mother, I cried all the way from 0 to 3 months, and it shows in my daughter.

Fun times!

Thank you all, here are more photos of our pretty lady:

Hi Dan,

Got 2 kids myself. Girl (10) boy (5). They bring out a part of you that you didn't know you had. You feel like murdering them when they argue or drive you crazy with their toys (or Justin Bieber music, urggghhhh), but at the same time you would walk through fire for them.

All the very best of luck for the future, Dan.

This is what is known in grandparenting circles as "sweet, sweet karma." :D
