try OMEGU and it has english speaking sailors if I recall. I like OM but there are not enough capital warships for my taste.

So what I meant is, wanna play OM, go ahead, but if you want to resume playing the american side, disable OM. Thats all. |
My first experiance in the north
Right now the only the thing that bothers me with running just OpMonsoon is the German voices in the american subs.
But I dont think I run OM far enough yet. At this point I stated at the beginning of the war in 2nd flottilla to get my IX, my tally for the first while was dismall. Say a patrol of 15000 tons was good. But just before Norway I was given a patrol down off of Spain, and that would of taken me to long to complete, and get back in time for the Norwegian battles so I splent about a week up near south westren entrances to Scapa. Boy that was worth waiting for. I was running at 30 meters when I picked a Kent. I managed to chase him down but I also had another contact that I didn't take a look at as I busy. When I hit the first Kent I checked the secound contact that was now closing. What a surprise a secound Kent was charging down on me. The bugger even spotted my scope and started using his main battery. But to bad so sad he zigged when he should of zagged and I got me two Kents in one day. The next day when I was about to call it quits and head home as I had only the two crusiers in a week. Smoke on the horizon was spotted and the chase was on. Two Fiji's running 600 meters apart. Well that was four cruisers and a happy boat when we got home. The next partol had me start on the 20th of August to do a patrol off of the Bodo, Narvik area that the allies still had. When I was about even with Namos I ran into a small task force in medicore weather, and look at that 2 Kents followed by a York. I ran in and did an attack running parallel to them and with great satisfaction I got me a Kent and York. |
Four capital ships in one patrol, two in the next... are you sure you weren't using an Akula, by mistake?
:lurk: |
I know that is nuts. Like I said this is my first run at a campaign with OM installed.
But think about I was outside of Scapa in the Western approaches. But when I nailed the first Kent it was like 1914 Akoukir, Houge and Cressy. The secound Kent behaved like a dd maybe he coming for surviors after getting a mine signal? How's that for bolstering the AI. The 2 Fiji right in line love that but what of the escorts, they were at 22 knots so maybe they figured that it was a high speed run that would save them. On this patrol getting the Kent and York does surprise me but, the way the allies were using almost any ship they could to get there troops out of Normay almost has this playing into the scipt. But I see one more capital ship on this patrol it going to be something wrong here. In Sh3 there used to be a TF parked in fjord by Alesund. When I first posted about no one had seen it before. It was great wait outside the fjord and sneak in at 7 m then go 15m and line them up 3 tribals two trooptransports and one Fiji. It's like when you start a patrol and do not see an enemy till you have done your first save. The way gives you tasks is something I would love to understand more. In one game all it took was the right key strokes at say the time of firing of a gun or a change in speed, they could case the next series of events. There I rambling again. |
patrol update
Well to add to the sunken now I add a Revenge and two more Fiji's.
NOW this is a total of 3 Kents 1 York 4 Fiji 1 Revenge Now how is that for the first campaign with OM. Right now I am on way home from Norway, finishing only my secound patrol. One thing I noticed in SH3 was when you had a good capital ship kill rate then you could go months without anything bigger than a Tribal. I disabled OM on next patrol in the pacific but I better drop something in. Secound patrol and I have three Agano, 1 Ise, and Shokau. First patrol I got a Kongo. Grant |
