It may be low-tech, but it's tried, true and highly effective! :O:

Tell your friend,

The car would disintegrate long before it could reach anywhere close to the speed of light, assuming it did not hit something sooner.

yeah... that was the second part of my response at the time actually :har:

That is the difference between theoretical and applied physics. :know: :D

In theory, there's no difference between practice and theory.

But in practice... there is. :|\\

Actually if two ships are both traveling at the same warp speed the pursuing ship would have the advantage since the light from the pursued ship reaches the pursuer faster than light (it reaches the warp field and is compressed along with the normal space along the ship's flight path) while the light from the pursuing ship never reaches the pursued ship. So until the pursuer extends their warp field around the pursued ship (to say open fire with a STL weapon like a phaser) thus equalizing the relative velocities the pursued ship will never know someone was there.

I still prefer the good old photon torpedo!

so... any takers?

I say, nothing would happen.

to an observer outside your craft - you would be completely invisible; as vision as we know it depends on light to be reflected off a surface for it to be seen.

from you're own point of view... you, your control panel, the interior of your craft and everything else would also be completely invisible as you would be moving faster than the light required for you to see other objects.

:hmmm:

If you are going faster than the speed of light? :hmmm:

I guess the light from the headlamps would shine backwards into your face. :haha:

I presume that afterward they sell the table as armour against visible light radiation?

Bahhh Hayabusas are such slow stuff ...

Good thing that Revvin Kevin got to ride something much better: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkAKiw2jhF8 ;)

Pickled eggs and beer with hot peppered corn almost passes at the speed of light.

That's not physics, that's a biological self-defense mechanism.:DL

yubba 04-22-11 06:21 PM

Certainly has some thrust though.
