If you're looking for a U-Boat war simulation, SH3+GWX is the way to go. :woot:

Now if you're looking for a Type VII simulator, SH5 is the best choice! :salute: It beats SH3's Type VIIs.

Yeah I can't wait till we actually get some submarine choice in SH5... the VII is okay but I'd rather have a bit of freedom of choice. Back when I used to play SH3 I used to always use the IX, plus the ability to start out in that lil type II and work your way up was just fun.

edit:
When SH5 can:
- Have a fully rendered Type 9 AND render more crewman then vanilla.
- Have a full KM grid
- allow you to actually touch the damn bottom

When SH5 can do all that, let me know will ya?

When U_BOOT-HAHD is finished, you will play only SH3...:D

(I play GWX and SH4 TMO and RFB, both modded are great games).

Yes, a bit out of topic... but relation between "SH5 case" and "CoD case" is quite visible... Ubisoft destroying nice simulation brands... and forcing people to play 7-8 years old games.

What do you expect from a company that only cares about profits? Start buying from devs/publishers that actually seem to care about their games. Better yet don't buy any games and support Tarn Adams the developer of Dwarf Fortress. :O:

jeez its been a while.

Anyway i have played all the silent hunter series with the exception of SH 1.

so far yes SH5 is a bit of a culture shock due to the difference between 3, 4 (which were similar) and 5. I think i'll survive however. just need to workout which mods im using and i'm sure itll be fine.

with mods SH5 actully is a very nice game to play...I wish tho that it was with american U-Boats....Dont get me wrong, i love playing the german U-Boats but i also loved that the american one i could ping the target...

Look at Stoains mod list and you will get a good feel for the best ones out there...Not that you have to use all the ones he does...I think he plays a Mod game with a bit of SH5...:)

I wasn't aware the US had any U-Boats in service....but I know what you mean :03:
