GWX needs a clean install.

And uninstall and reinstall should suffice. Delete any installed mods using JSGME, and make sure you read the FAQ on SHC to help install that.

Sorry, I have SHC installed already

also, can I simply un-mod the files in JSGME, will that be enough as the last time in uninstalled and reinstalled SH3 the MOD folder and JSGME remained in the registry and were reloaded automatically into the directory folder

Everything up and running. No problems to report on the GWX, so happy bunny here.

Thanks

Doesn't matter, as Commander is not a mod and only affects the game from the outside, imposing its changes as it loads.

An example: I have the Water Clarity set very low in Commander (I have it set to 2), so if I load through Commander I can hardly see anything at all. If, however, I load the game directly the water is quite clear, so Commander overrides the game on a load-by-load basis. I also have it set for Auto-Rollback, so that probably makes the difference.

I would have said no, but it seems to have worked for you, so I'm probably wrong (as usual).

I keep a separate unmodded stock Data folder in a safe place, which allows me to re-install in short time by just swapping in the stock folder. This also guarantees that I have a copy of all the stock files, just in case I need one for something.

Yeah, I just un-modded and everything was fine.

Spoke too soon...slightly.
Started off in 1939 just to get a feel for the new bits and pieces.
Played for about an hour or so. Messed around with new mods added.
Message said we are at war with England.
Five minutes later a nice big cargo ship popped into view.
Tracked her, fired 2 torpedos.
One was a flippin dud..the other hit her prop.
Fired another and sunk her.

Game crashed before I could save it...ahhhhhhh

Anyway, will restart from last save and see how it goes...but all that work, all the lovely tonnage...gone forever....:damn:
