Prometheus News | Posted by Darkness on 22 Apr 2011 11:32 GMT

AlienPrequelNews have posted some interesting details on Prometheus. First, there was a call sheet which listed the following actors and their characters: Charlize Theron (Vickers), Idris Elba (Janek), Emun Elliot (Chance) and Benedict Wong (Ravel). Their source also saw three aliens and gave details about the costumes.

“Though security on the set is very tight with the good weather, dock doors have been open and cast and crew have been enjoying lunch outdoors. I can confirm seeing 3 aliens having lunch. Not the whole costume but blueish costumes and the unmistakable heads hanging around their shoulders”

“The alien heads were the same shape but no markings, only a plane bronze colour. As for the suits black boots and shoulder pads the rest was a Chelsea blue body suit could be for SFX, all the sets around the back of the bond stage have huge green chromokey maybe that’s a clue. I have witnessed foam cut outs of unmistakable aliens all cut in half lengh ways so they could be in the floor walls etc and very much from the original film.”

“I managed to enter the bond stage one weekend when no filming was sheduled all I can say is there is a very very long tunnel that leads to an enormous structure at the back of the stage which is the same height as the stage and probably extends out another 200 ft. All of these sets are surrounded by wood foam and scaffold so sid not see inside, I think this is were the Space Jockey set is.”

Thanks to Darkoo for the news.

That's nothing. I saw a werewolf drinking a piña colada at Trader Vic's.

P.S. And his hair was perfect.

An Alien movie without Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley ? :nope:

An Alien movie with a 60+ years old Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley ? :nope:

So the only chance for a good Alien could be a prequel. :DL

But that is only my two pennies on it...

stoppro 06-12-11 09:32 AM

F.K when were you in London?

Jimbuna 06-12-11 09:43 AM

Predators is on two of my cable channels this evening and is scheduled to be screened twice over on each :o

I am looking forward to Sorcerers Apprentice though.

Dowly 06-12-11 09:53 AM

Predators balls'd it up. Would've been so much better with more Lawrence Fishburne's character. :yep:

And the super predators? :nope:

Aye....hence the 'amazed' smiley at the end.

Besides....I always wanted to see them win :DL

Looks like a cheap film judging by those pics.

Dunno, the familiar Giger's design you see inside whatever that thing is in the second shot is imho pretty promising. :yep:

Also, there's apparently more of these photos, no idea if the guy will upload them as Fox contacted him within 24hrs to take those 2 photos down from his site. :hmmm:

Here's his post over @ AvPGalaxy.net:

Was i being niaive? Maybe, but there we are... what's done is done.

But being smarmy about it? Teasing people about them now? Not at all. As of right now, I have made my intentions clear - until my discussions with Fox are cleared up, I won't be posting any more of these pics. Depending on the outcome of those talks, the pics MAY then or may still NOT be posted. I simply don't know at this stage.

My hope is that Fox will grant me permission to use them, and that they will see the benefit of the publicity - looking at the various site who picked up the news, reaction has been overwhelmingley postive, after all. Would they agree to that? I have no way of knowing, which is why I've not promised or 'teased' anything.

Anyone who has PM'd me for further info will confirm that I have offered no answers or 'teases' as to what the other pics show.

Sorry if I'm sounding a bit baity, but just felt I had to set the record straight - nothing personal.

I'm happy that, if nothing else, the pics I did manage to post have got people excited. Ridley Scott is my favourite living director - and my son is named after him - and I can't wait to see the finshed product.

Revealed info about Prometheus from the Cine Europe Expo:
  • Prometheus occupies the same universe as Alien.
  • The film is inspired by a desire to explore the Space Jockey creature seen in the first Alien.
  • Prometheus is also the name of the spacecraft sent from Earth by a powerful corporation.
  • The storyline and script is inspired by Swiss sci-fi writer Eric van Daniken.
  • Michael Fassbender hinted that his character, David, is an android.

Synopsis:

Visionary filmmaker Ridley Scott returns to the genre he helped define,
creating an original science fiction epic set in the most dangerous corners
of the universe. The film takes a team of scientists and explorers on a
thrilling journey that will test their physical and mental limits and strand
them on a distant world, where they will discover the answers to our most
profound questions and to life’s ultimate mystery.

ALIENS doesn't show the inside of the derelict, but if you watch ALIEN, you'll
notice that the design is spot on (considering this is a "space jockey movie").

I thought the SJ's ship in ALIEN was wicked good, and wished that more coverage of it had been done in ALIENS (even the Director's Cut). Original ALIENS story had Newt's folks going into the ship, her pop getting caught by a facehugger, and then her mom dragging them all back via their crawler to Hadley's Hope. (So, yeah, the whole plot of ALIENS is basically Newt's dad's fault.) I think I remember Cameron shooting some of that sequence, but not all of it, and it was left out of the theatrical release.

More to the point, absent the heavy atmospheric lighting that sets and final prints are likely to have, the Daleks were the first things that came to mind.

That scene and a brief scene from inside the colony pre-infestation are included
on the "Special Edition" of ALIENS.

Ah, yes. I remember this, specifically, the Weyland-Yutani logo on the bulkhead - the only real identification of "the Company" in the entire movie. The kid riding the the little trike was a poignant touch, too. Leave it to Cameron to tug your heart strings while he setting you up for slaughter.

I couldn't remember which edition it was in, but I did remember seeing the scene. I've got the ALIEN Collector's Editon on DVD at home, but haven't watched in a few years - freaks my wife right out of the house.
