One of my favorite quips over the years, when seeing a clock with no marks or numbers (just hands) was, "Hey, they make watches & clocks without the minute marks, and they make them without numbers, eventually the darn things will be so fancy they will make them without hands."

It has happened.
I'm sorry to dissapoint you, but watches without hands do exist for a long time:

Just joking :har:

I am most pleased with my Omega Seamaster Professional. Despite not diving any more, I think it has a nice classy but not gaudy look.

No prizes for guessing where mine came from :DL

I just picked up one of these in the Bargain Cave at the Cabelas up in Maine for $50 bucks.

The luminescent dots on the numbers 1, 2 and 3 had fallen off...

Not a shabby move, a common trick used by muggers is to ask you the time, so you pull out your mobile to see, and they either nick it or have a good look at it and judge its worth so they can mark you as a potential. :yep:

Where do you live then?....Sherwood Forest?

Up North if you can tell them the time they know you've been educated and probably have a job and therefore a bit money in your pocket....they simply beat you to the ground and rifle yer pockets :DL

GAAAAAH that would drive me crazy.

We had a cheap plastic wall clock in my office at work with hands but no numbers on it. It drove us crazy, especially when it came to discerning at a glance the difference between almost 4:30 (time to pack it up and go home, yay!) and almost 3:30 (another hour? *groan*).

I finally got fed up and painted numbers on it with White-Out one day. :yeah:

Imust say the idea is brilliant and it is cool. Though I don't see myself ever buying it. It's just so not me.

I believe I could help you but would work much better if you asked that say 2 years ago than now that prices have gone up. But then again you won't put stock on my saying or a stranger :O:

Buy Israeli stocks but not just any Israeli company but the safest would be ones that cater to Israeli domestic retail. . . . .unfortunately Israel has only a small domestic market so I wouldn't think such companies would worth a lot :O:

Israelis have been enjoying a good time after a scare due to global crisis but for how long is anybody's guess. They've got money. I just hope they won't worship it.

i need my watch to tell me what time it is accruately, with no BS, no gimmicks.

That is my wristwatch right there, and it is so old school it is a WIND UP, but I have replaced the strap once or twice.

I hate men's jewelry as much as men's cologne. The only jewelry I wear is a watch. I tried going with only my cell phone for a while but there are too many times when I am sitting in a class or at a table where digging into my pocket is a pain.

My daily watch, when motorcycle riding and around the house on days off; cheap, reliable, and not flashy, Timex Expedition Resin Case Camper Nylon Strap Watch

My new work watch, which I wear at the hotel, the Danish Skagen 233XLTMB Titanium Watch. Thin, subtle, and a great value.

I have a few other interesting watches, including one of the first Fossil watches, and a whole slew of the USSR Navy & Submarine watches. Those things were like wearing a brick strapped to my wrist :haha:

Castout 01-15-11 11:12 PM

My current one is a fossil.

simple is always better:

what I normally use - very strong strap/pin fixing... was tired of catching the automatic (see below) on stuff and having the strap break.

but battery is dead so I bough a cheap casio for the mean time (haha)

I do like the idea of the solar power/radio time update Gshock watches http://www.g-shock.co.uk/products/or...W-M5600BC-1ER/ not too gaudy like some. Perhaps it could be the last word in practical wrist watches? Not sure about the 'negative display' though, they used to do one with the ordinary 'digital display' thing.

I have an old citizen automatic but it doesn't keep time very well - it lost several minutes a month. Nice watch all the same though.

TarJak 01-16-11 06:37 AM

Citizen's new Eco-Drive solar powered watches are great. Haven't lost a second in the 18 months I've had mine.

Betonov 01-16-11 06:49 AM

Fell in love with this one after seing it in an editin of Playboy
