My new year just got an even better starting moment, right now im working a 24 hour shift, 14 and a half hours in, got a call from a coworker that they need me to come in early tomorrow when i start my night shift. I get off work at 8 in the morning, will be at home at about 9, then have to be out of the door again at 16:00 to be at work by 17:30 for another 14 and a half hours. So right now I'm looking at about 4 to 5 hours of sleep after a 24 hour shift to do another logner than usual shift.

Im sorry about ranting so much about my job in recent times, but its the only thing I really have had any time for and thus the only thing on my mind and they keep ****ing me over constantly.

Well the good thing to come out of the long hrs is you would get time and a half extra pay being holidays :hmmm: I would of worked through Christmas if were asked but the job doesn't allow it we have to have 4days off for Christmas and another 4days of for new years. I would rather be working and making that extra bonus.

Its double pay on holidays here, BUT I allready have over 250 hours logged in december, january is going to be another 200+ hour month and I am just worn out, I need rest. I have been working overtime for close to 5 months now. Iv got so many hours of overtime, which is payed for at 1.5 times usual that it is actually illegal for me to work any more. even with a week and a half of sick leave in july my 5 day average is over the maximum 60 hours allowed for a security guard.

Send me your overtime payments and I'll see that you fet a decent wreath at your funeral :O:

You need to either learn to say 'NO' fast or gain employment with an alternative employer that puts your personal health and wellbeing higher up their agenda :yep:

Rgr that....I understand jobs don't exactly grow on trees these days but the quicker you move on the better.

Best of luck in your search http://www.psionguild.org/forums/ima...s/thumbsup.gif

Happy New Year all - it has been the shortest day of the year here since I didn't wake up until almost 3 PM this afternoon. :O:

Actually I woke up earlier but I've taken to wearing a sleep mask at night to see if shutting out extraneous light would help me fall and stay asleep easier... uh, so, yeah, it works. :D

Problem is if I don't have the alarm set to get up at a particular time, and I wake up naturally and half open my eyes, I've forgotten about the mask and everything is still pitch black and I think it's the middle of the night and go back to sleep. Imagine my surprise when I woke up for the third or fourth time today and thought - oh now it can't still be the middle of the night, it was almost 4 AM when I went to bed... and lift the mask and check the clock and it's mid-afternoon. OOPS!

Oh well I guess I needed the sleep.

I'm leaving 2010 with an 11-hour Marx Brothers marathon. I'm not sure it gets better than that. :O:
