Airplane! and Naked Gun are some of the funniest movies ever made thanks to him.

All of you young'uns don't remember that long before Mel Gibson made The Patriot, Leslie Nielsen starred in a TV show called The Swamp Fox, which essentially told the same story.

I was looking at his listing at the IMDB after I read the news ,he had a Huge list of movies and tv shows from 1950 to this year but I'd forgotten his most important role http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0049223/ :D.I'll have to see if I can find a copy of it in my local video store for a wander down scifi movie history lane :03:
